    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

Occasionally I do to see how everybody is doing. Titan Z shouldn't really be a problem, but I wouldn't make any recommendations for a Titan. The problem is that any Titan has a ton of power (in theory), but are basically locked. My hackintosh previously ran a Titan X and now is on dual SLI Zotac...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

haha I'll have to look back and see if there are any major perplexing problems. And thank you for being so involved and helping people  Unfortunately I have not been able to come up with any solution for EC. Your not missing much of EC anyway. I installed it on 5 skylake 6700k computers...

Thanks for letting people know about that processor, it validates it being a processor issue with 5960x and not motherboard. I'll look at trying a newer clover, but still haven't broke in with 5960x

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

Yep. x99-e ws underperforms compared to pretty much every other asus x99 so I'd recommend a cheaper board. You can't run memory higher than 2400 Mhz so if you stick with x99-e ws I would save change by buying 2400 sticks in 64gb. 32gb is about the sweet spot for RAM. 64gb is just being showey...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

I have 1301, it works fine. I will be getting back to working on el capitan today testing several new methods. The wife is starting a dental clinic on Nov.1 and I have spent several weeks working to create a website for it so been a little behind. Regardless, if I identify a fix I do not plan to...

5960x Not Compatible with el capitan

I have done an extensive amount of testing to identify the incompatibility issue with 5960x and el capitan. This has been discussed in x99 threads, but I want to start a dedicated thread to help people understand and discuss the problem and possible solutions. The issue is not going to be...

X99 and El Capitan Install and Misc

You can't. At least I have tried many times to reach recovery mode to no avail. I am with you in hoping that somebody has found a method, but recovery mode has never worked on 5960x for me.

5960x x99-e ws instant reboot even in -x or -s

ACPIPlatform and IO---Family... Can't remember which IOfamily off the top of my head, I believe they are from 10.9.5

5960x x99-e ws instant reboot even in -x or -s

Posted to you on another thread as well. The 5960x seems to be not compatible on el capitan at this time. I am not sure what is going to be needed at this time. It may require a new type of kernel patch or kexts. I am working on identifying the issue and part of it seems to be related to...

X99 and El Capitan Install and Misc

Good to know. I have 5960x and x99-e ws. Does removing debug=0x14e lead to instant reboot? I have started to narrow this down to a 5960x problem rather than asus x99. You don't need kext-dev-mode=1 btw.

5960x x99-e ws instant reboot even in -x or -s

finally got a readout on a unibeast installer to work off of....sadly unibeast doesn't work as it is clover based instead of chimera. usbmsc Identifier (non-unique): AF327H01YE08000304 0x154b 0x7a 0x1100, 2 I tried the config.plist and same deal.

5960x x99-e ws instant reboot even in -x or -s

Ill try your config.plist first to see how it goes with clover before goin to unibeast 6.0 (if needed). I haven't kernel patched either on yosemite, 5960x works fine as long as the two required rollback kexts are in. Is npci=0x2000 still necessart in el capitan? I know you can ditch kext-dev-mode=1

5960x x99-e ws instant reboot even in -x or -s

Ahhh Uni-beast 6.0 has been released :) I have a good feeling that tonight will be my time to get the el capitan installed successfully. I'll let 5960x / x99 owners know how it goes through unibeast. That program seems to be the savior of this issue.

5960x x99-e ws instant reboot even in -x or -s

I am doubting anybody has an answer for this, but wanted to give it a try. To give some background, 5960x and x99-e ws installs of yosemite are only possible through uni-beast, after which clover can be installed. The issue with direct clover installs is that you get an immediate reboot even if...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

No noticeable advantage to 6,1 bios really, 3,1 and 5,1 work. work. You shouldn't have issues with windows. I haven't worked with wifi, but have you tried to see if it is natively supported without additional kexts? Bluetooth is, so wifi might be. If not, the best thing is to google your...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

Its best to start with the newest OS X since every update can require some fiddling. My files were generated on 10.10.5 so there is a potential you could hit some issues with 10.10.4, but you can try and see. On graphics I am more referring to nvidia vs amd. The first install is the hardest as...

    5960x - Titan X - 2x Samsung 4k - Asus X99-E WS - Clover - EFI - SM951

Yes you won't see outputs and it can take 20-30 mins on yosemite usb. I have now done an install without a patched kernel on 10.10.5, but that doesn't really do anything to make it any more stable. The two roolback kexts apip and ioahc (whatever their names) are required and voodootscsync isn't...
