I started over from step one and was able to get it installed using someone's EFI folder. When I boot into OS X I got a "Can't find /mach_kernel" error. I got the same results trying to boot using the USB drive.
Decided to wipe the drive and start over since I probably had an old chimera...
I'm getting a DSMOS has arrived error when trying to load the installer using Clover. It quickly flashes white right after and gets stuck on a black screen. Any ideas where to start?
Do I need to format the intended SSD before doing the install? Or can I do an upgrade from 10.9 with this method?

I have an older i7-930 without integrated graphics. Think I could do the following?
* Upgrade to 10.10 with my ATI HD 4870 still in place
* Install the new GTX 970 GPU
* Target boot the hard drive using a Macbook Pro over firewire, and install the web driver?
Doesn't that mean your only using the integrated HD4000 graphics from the intel processor?
My rig uses a i7-930, and doesn't have any integrated graphics. Really scared that I won't be able to upgrade to the 750ti or the 800 series when it launches.
