I have the same problem. I got High Sierra installed (10.13.2) with everything running fine except for this. I boot in verbose and sometimes it stucks on "Does printf work?" and sometimes it boots fine. I've tried several boot flags and UEFI drivers, but nothing seemed to change. Whats weird...
