I should actually say I did two things that which have caused this issue. In preparation for the Sierra update (I still haven't installed it yet, I'm on El Capitan), I changed my system definition to iMac 14,2 and also updated Clover. When I updated Clover, I also moved FakeSMC.kext into the...
Oh my goodness. I've only had this problem since Windows 7. Since I only use Windows for gaming, I've just put up with it, occasionally asking Windows to re-sync. I always thought it was just a Windows-being-stupid thing and didn't think it had to do with dual booting.
Thanks!
I know this post is a couple months old, but I just wanted to say that removing /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches worked for me when I had this issue. Not exactly sure what caused it but it's fixed now.
Super cool! Looks super clean - too bad that the bottom part of the frame is thicker than the rest. Otherwise I'd say it looks better than my 24" Cinema Display!
Successfully worked with my P7-P55D-E Pro. I used the same DSDT that was attached, with no hiccups, except a small one with Champlist that didn't let me install Chameleon through its package. I was able to install it with a standalone pkg though.
Thanks!!
Okay, it might have been a while but I've got a lot done - in fact, I'm finished! With all of the excitement of the new site and Mountain Lion, things got a bit out of control. Check the first post for the final product.

Using the kernel cache should be okay now that you've booted with your new card. Whenever you swap cards, add the boot command UseKernelCache=No.
The AtiPorts line shouldn't matter. I'm pretty sure 5 ports on a 6870 is default, so the line would be redundant.
Okay.
Step 1: Shut down.
Step 2: Install your 6870.
Step 3: Power up your computer.
Step 4: When Chameleon comes up, type UseKernelCache=No.
Let us know what happened.
Try booting with GraphicsEnabler=No at the Chameleon command prompt, or changing your boot plist to
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>
This should get you in, but with a 1024x768 resolution.
When you installed ML did you remove the ATI6000Controller kext from...
I'm experiencing some complications when I disable NullCPUPowerManagement kext. I get a choppy GUI - inertial scrolling is not smooth, typing is a little delayed and the animations of OSX are slow as well. If I reenable the null kext I get the smooth GUI but then no sleep...
Any ideas?
