    HP xw8600

Okay, I believe I found it! NullCPUPowerManagement.kext Installed this kext on my system drive and now there are no more lockups. This is yet one more reason I would prefer to have a DSDT, but even with the guides I have read, I'm still lost on how to make one.

    HP xw8600

Thanks! I ended up convincing my lazy butt to Google it and found the same info. :) Unfortunately, I am having more problems now after trying to move over some of the now un-hidden files to my boot drive. I am going to just start from scratch again and take it one item at a time.

    HP xw8600

Well, if no one can pinpoint the problem, can someone at least let me know how I can access the hidden files on the Unibeast USB installer? I realize this is just a Mac OS X question. Perhaps I just need to open a terminal window and navigate to the drive?

No ideas on this, eh? There's gotta be something on the USB boot drive.....

    HP xw8600

I'm getting much closer to a working system now. The biggest change I made a while back was to go with the nVidia GT 740 card. This gave me compatibility and performance at a reasonable price. Even more recently, I changed to E5450 CPUs due to their lower power consumption. The X5450s just...

    PCI-E USB 3.0 card with 100% native Mac OS X 10.9.3 Compatibility

Has anyone tried this card: http://www.amazon.com/ORICO-PVU3-2O2I-Express-Internal-Connector/dp/B008717L0G/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1435535568&sr=1-2&keywords=ORICO+usb+3.0+pci+20+pin in Yosemite or Mavericks?

SATA 6Gb/s / SATA III - PCIe Card - Works in LION !

I too picked up one of the ASMedia 1061 cards. It must have been DOA but I did not realize that until later (after the point of no return). I experienced really slow performance and system freezing even on the Windows side. It is in the correct slot and I'm using 6Gbps SATA cables. Just got a...

    evga GT740

I picked up the GT 740 SC 2GB. I had already planned a reinstall of Mavericks due to a damaged file system, so the new card was installed during the OS reload. I got through the installer process just fine and at no point did I need to use GraphicsEnabler=Yes to boot. I avoided Multibeast this...

    Nvidia Quadro 2000

This card works in my system but the drivers are not optimized. Windows 7 on the same machine has much better driver support (not surprisingly). Unfortunately, I do not believe nvidia has enhanced drivers for this card for Mac OS X.

    evga GT740

My Quadro 2000 in Mavericks is mostly good but I am getting less than half of the Cinebench scores in Mac OS X vs Windows 7 installed on the same machine. 28fps vs 48fps in Windows. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be optimized drivers for the 2000. I even tried installing this driver...

XW8600 Hackintosh - Only can boot in Safe Mode

Correction, my experience is becoming very much like the original posters, but it only happened after I applied some of the Multibeast additions. Namely, FakeSMC + Hardware monitor, 3rd Party SATA and Intel SATA, Mac Pro 3,1 SMBIOS, Basic Boot, and Chimera. Prior to that, I was booting from...

XW8600 Hackintosh - Only can boot in Safe Mode

My experience with Yosemite and the xw8600 is somewhat different than the original posters. First, where in BIOS did you "enable DEP and disable VT-d and VT-x" ? I do not seem to have these options unless they are described differently. My BIOS is v1.46 (latest). So, for me, the installer loads...

    HP XW8600

Hi trevorw. Well I see you only have one post in this forum so I do know how often you will be checking back. I too have an xw8600 with Quadro 2000 but cannot get it to boot Mavericks unless in safe mode. Can you tell me more about your system specs? I have Dual 3.0GHz Xeon X5450 processors...

    HP XW8600

EDIT: Silly me, I was trying to get this to work in ML when you said it was for Mavericks. :) ~~~~~ Strange. That didn't work for me. I see "Intel High Definition Audio" showing up in the System Report, but there is no audio output device listed in the System Preferences. I used the -f boot...

    HP XW8600

Hi Benjudas! You may recognize me from another forum. :) I will try your audio kext with Mountain Lion even though I am now trying to (unsuccessfully) get Mavericks working on the xw8600.

    HP XW8600

*Apologies to the moderator. Just realized I posted about the same hardware, but in the Snow Leopard section of the forum. No problem if it needs to move.* ~~~~~~~ Thank you for posting the Broadcom kext above. Do you know where I can get the integrated audio from? Funny thing is HP's own...
