I've been using a build running on Yosemite since 2015. I've never used virtualization, and in fact I only recently even found out about it. What is the best virtualization option for my system? I installed Parallels Desktop and it seems to work, but I still haven't installed an operating system...

For some reason my wifi connected. I didn't do anything, and tried it today randomly, and the wifi connected. Thanks both of you for all your help and I'll see what happens down the line.

I don't have Windows or Linux, but do you think it might be worth it to purchase a usb wifi antenna and see if that fixes my hack? If it didn't work I would return it. Is there one you recommend?

Do you think it could be the card although it's recognizing the network? It just doesn't connect when I select it.

Would those work in Yosemite? I would need to stay on Yosemite as I have some applications that won't open beyond that OS. Thanks.

Turns out the other two EFI folders are empty. Disk0 EFI is the only one that had any content.

Here's the zipped EFI folder. It's one of three found on my computer. They were all the same size, so I imagine they're the same, but not sure. I'm uploading the EFI from disk0 as suggested be Feartech. Thanks.

It appears there's two EFI files on my build as seen in the image below. Do you think they're the same file? Should I zip them both and post here, or just one?

It's a very old build, still running Yosemite. Not sure what you mean y zipped EFI. I'll gladly do if but I don't know how. Sorry, I built this myself years ago but haven't kept up with all the terms.

Sometimes when I move or touch the build, it shuts off. I've made sure all cables are connected all the way. It seems to be more sensitive around the heatsink area. So if I press on the heatsink, the system shuts on and off. The heatsink fan overlaps onto the ram sticks (which is normal), so I'm...

Thanks. I couldn't find my thermal paste, but I did remove the heatsink and re-distributed the paste that was already on there with my finger. It wasn't dry, so I think it's still fine. The main thing I did was clean the heatsink and computer. It was very dusty in there. System seems to be okay now.

My build was running fine for 3 years, and now it's suddenly shutting off randomly. It happens about once a day, usually while heavy use, such as watching videos, but other functions as well. After unplugging and waiting a while, I can boot back up. Would appreciate help. Thank you.

Will Crystaldiskinfo allow me to recover files, or just read? Also, is there a Mac version. My PC is very old (15 years or so).

To update, I realize now that the Seagate 3TB drive was what was causing the problem. That's what caused the power loss in the first place (could be a failing hard drive). Once I removed the drive the system boots up.

It's not a new drive, and I'm not sure it's not dead. In fact, I suspect it could be.

My system is suddenly not booting up when my Seagate 3TB internal HD is plugged in. It gives me an Ebios error. That's not where the OSX is. OSX is in SSD. So when I unplug the HD, the system boots up. I tried plugging in the HD after the boot up but it's not showing up. So to be clear, I'm...
