Worked flawlessly for me app store update from .5 to .6

I ended up buying a Sapphire RX580. When booting up, my secondary display is black and there are glitches on the screen, but I put it to sleep and then wake it up and it's fine... Not perfect, but it's solid now.

It won't go past Clover with the XFX RX 580 in, so I did the install with my 1050ti.

I tried 14,2 & now 18,3 & yeah igpu's been disabled for years. I'm going to try to talk the guy at the local computer store to swap for a different RX 580

I've been working on this all weekend and when I found your post this morning I had hope! But it didn't work for me. Can I ask what Kexts you're running and what port you're using on your card (If I have anything plugged into a displayport, it won't even get to my bios)?

I tried your suggestions with same result. I found a thread that said to roll back the card bios. Tried that, but didn't help. After I did Ploddles suggestion it goes to black at the halfway mark of the apple boot progress bar. I read XFX's are harder to get running. Wish I'd checked into...

Alright, I've been running through this thread over and over and even went off on several side tracks trying anything that seemed possible... Here's my story. I've been using a 1050ti, but wanted something my system would recognize and let me run acceleration and last but not least I dual boot...

To bump up an old post, I feel I should add in what causes my El Capitan hackintosh to do this. If I reboot the system with any of my external usb drives plugged in, I get the error. Once I realize I have the external drive(s) plugged in, I can reboot and it comes back perfectly.

Updated through App store. Everything seems fine. USB3 & Sound - no problems :)
