Ok looks like the issues are a bit more diverse. I delved into the USB stuff but haven't got that fully sorted out yet. I'm still trying to figure that out further. But also, sometimes when I boot up the screen goes white and then shows all kinds of colors around the edges moving into the center...
The microphone on my Thinkpad T430 with ALC269 Realtek chip is not working. I've followed several guides but none of them were able to solve the issue. Audio seems to work just fine, but no mic.
Also, I think I saw somewhere that I am currently only getting USB2 as opposed to 3. I have to...
Ok I tried the UEFI method and the problems are basically exactly the same.
Either very slow load until halfway the apple logo, and then stuck, or it just reboots immediately when it gets to the apple logo -- depending on which changes I made in the bios.
I think the reboot is either due to EHCI...
Ok thank you.
If it doesn't work with your suggestion I will indeed try the UEFI installer and see what happens there, but that's something for somewhere next week... when I have a bit more time. Thank you for now. I will report back to let you know what happened.
So after changing all that, it reboots after some time. So clearly I changed something I shouldn't have?
So, more precisely:
It loads the Chimera
I choose the OSX installer
After a short flash of the apple logo, it reboots
then again tried some of the 'boot flags', but it still reboots.
So I...
Ok some settings in the BIOS weren't correct.
Settings that I could find and changed:
Intel Adaptive Thermal Monitor --> Disabled
Limit CPUID Maximum --> Enabled (the item will allow legacy OS to boot even without support for CPUs with extended CPUID functions)
Intel Virtualization Technology...
The USBBusFix did not work unfortunately.
I don't have another USB handy at this moment. I thought I did but I don't.... So I'll see if I can figure something out and I will get back soon after that.
Same result.. :(
Since you seem to be focusing on the USB here, could the problem also simply be in the USB stick? It's a 32GB one. Maybe I should try an older one, like a 4GB or something? Or 8?
With the GraphicsEnabler I get an unrecoverable error.
With the second option it seems to be stuck at the same point:
I've had the USB in both USB2.0 as well as 3.0 ports.
Does it matter which one I take?
Hi,
So I've been going through the guide to install Yosemite, and everything went great up until the point of booting from the usb drive. Even before the menu to choose between Windows (which is still installed) and OSX Yosemite I get about 4 errors - all the same. Then the menu comes up where...
