Just quick update, I finally got around to that Avid project and it appears to work flawlessly. Haven't run into a single issue so far.

I have the GTX 1050 Ti and it's coming up in the system information as metal capable... will I still have to wait for the web drivers? Thx.

I will definitely try it out and report back. Thanks for your help. I actually just use two monitors, but I can always use more GPU power because I use the machine for professional video editing and a lot of FX/Coloring work.

I have that adapter. It works pretty well. Sometimes gets a little bit flaky with a Magic Mouse, but it's usually a positioning issue. Other than that, no problems with it.

Has anyone tried one of the Quadro cards on this machine? I'm looking at the P1000 specifically for a bit of an upgrade. Thanks!

I do not, because I have rarely if ever had the need--have a project coming up in Avid though, so I'll report back on that. If and when I have to do something in FCPX I'll let you know as well, but I doubt that will ever happen as most everyone in the professional environment avoids it like...
