Thanks for that comparison between 3050 and 5050. I had no idea that the chipset was different! So, we have lots of opportunity to provide starting points for EFI folders.

I tried your EFI and it didn't even boot my 3050. I haven't dug into the details of why. While they should be the same mobo, bios, etc., I'm surprised that it wouldn't even boot.

all automatic for me. Took about 15 minutes; completely unattended.

finally did the install for Mojave, with trepidation. Everything worked out, but the progress bar after reboot didn't move hardly at all. Full process took an hour. I haven't noticed higher memory usage. Maybe a bit less memory usage after the "supplemental update" installed.

Amen to all of that. I tried a couple of times to upgrade to 10.11, but Yosemite and Chimera just work. Enough time wasted.
