Did you try with compatibility mode? Also, be sure to boot it with uefi so that you are able to modify with efibootmgr.

Thanks so much for the post. This works with my Asrock Z97 Extreme6. For some reasons my EFI wasn't mounted correctly. After mounting it, copying files over and apply your method, it works like a charm!

Found the solution. Boot with nv_disable=1 to boot and install web driver, and then use nvda_drv=1 afterwards.
