Wow! This was an interesting adventure. Used a created Ventura install USB. At first the installer kept hanging with kernel panics. I can’t stress hard enough that is CRITICAL to have a proper USB mapping kext made. Find one that works for you from the EFI’s in this post. In Ventura any kind...

    [SUCCESS] ASUS TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING - i7 9700K - RX 580

It means that no motherboards except Apple's MacS are 100% compatible because parts of the hardware have no software drivers to work with macOS. The ASUS Intel Wi-Fi/Bluetooth has no macOS drivers. Most likely never will.

Looks fine to me, but its all personal preferences. As far as which MB (with or without WiFi). The MB built in WiFi/Bluetooth module doesn't work with macOS. I bought the MB with WiFi because it was cheaper and widely available at the time, then disabled it in BIOS and installed a compatible...

Using HFS+ Instead of APFS for Mojave Update

Now I’m happy... I bought a Samsung 970 evo for speed. When I installed H.S. With hfs+ is was great. Then I upgraded to Mojave and APFS. Boot time and general snappiness of the file system slowed down. Now I put hfs+ format back on my boot drive 970evo. With Mojave 14.3. I’m now seeing quick...

    [SUCCESS] ASUS TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING - i7 9700K - RX 580

In answer to your questions, I am having NO issues with MacMini8,1. I wanted to try it as it matched my 8700 i7. Now I have software tied to this model so I'll keep it. I did try to use TWO monitors with the igfx, but no go. Display port takes precedence over HDMI, and the HDMI port shuts off...

Two improved changes I've noticed with Mojave 14.3 update: Awaking from sleep responds normal now with one key press on my keyboard instead of two under 14.2 Both DP and HDMI (IGPU) now work 100% at being hot pluggable at any time. 14.2 HDMI was not hot pluggable.

Thank You for your Suggestions. I implemented some of them and was successful in updating to Mojave 10.14.3 Heres what I changed: 1. Removed ALL the Clover ACPI "Default" fixes. Checked " Drop OEM DSM" and Generate Options "PluginType". Removed any SSDT generated tables from "Drop Tables" shows...

I don't have a solution for Mojave update 14.3, and had to restore my system back to 14.2 as the IGPU graphics caused a zombied desktop that wouldn't respond to mouse clicks except once every few minutes. This has happed to others too. (This is not a problem with graphic cards) any ideas?

<< Solved >> ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F install stalled at last step

What other clover drivers are you using? The Asus boards like aptiomemory fix with emulatvaribles, or however it’s spelled. You can also try one ram stick in the a1 slot temporarily. Also haven’t seen anyone using forced usb ownership in clover for the Asus z390 boards.

[REGARDING SERIAL PORT] Just letting everyone know that the Asus TUF Z390M-Pro Gaming (Mojave 14.2), and I'm sure other Asus coffelake MB's doesn't need to have its serial port shutoff. I turned it on in bios and added a motherboard serial connector. It worked just fine identified as...

The black screen is a video issue. (Your really close!) Also the Z390 motherboards respond better to a newer version of Clover than MultiBeast provides. Use the latest version of Clover leaving the ACPI defaults. Also try a different video port if you can. By default my HDMI port would shut my...

Also found this post interesting on memory placement which is why you Z390 and Mac SMBIOS may not like dual channel while installing OS X system. My bloody head healed fast when I switched to A1 and A2 slots to get Mojave up and running. Then switched to normal dual channel...

Just check that you didn’t do stupid things like I did that made this a lot harder. With system hanging, crashing, etc. 1) the manual shows RAM going into slots A2 and B2 for just two sticks. That may be incorrect, depending on your Mac SMBIOS configuration. (it may not have dual channel...

Hey @ModMike There is enough of us first responders to the Z390 motherboards to now have it ironed out. I have compared a lot of ASUS Z390 builds and I find that the bios, clover, SMBIOS settings are almost Identical across ASUS motherboard product lines. The only differences I’m seeing is USB...

I know most of you run a video card so this won't apply. I am running on the native IGPU using the displayPort. My HDMI port displays video right up to the point that the igpu activates acceleration, then the screen turns off. I plug the monitor back into the DP and the video returns. I have...
