Can't boot Yosemite without USB bootloader

Run Multibeast again and install FakeSMC and AppleACPIPlatform Rollback, if you don't already have them installed.

    OS X 10.10.3 Update

It doesn't work with my GA-Z77M-D3H. It also needs NullCPUPowerManagement installed, and that's on a new install. I can't get it to work as an update to 10.10.2.

    OS X 10.10.3 Update

Well after following the method suggested here, I updated and my pc failed to boot afterwards. The screendump below shows how far it boots before stopping. Luckily I took a copy of my build with CCC and can revert back to 10.10.2, but I would like to know what's happening here so I can fix it...

    OS X 10.10.3 Update

Well as expected, I installed the update and now my build doesn't boot up. The black line just gets about a third way across the screen and halts. I've tried booting using my unibeast usb stick and it does the same thing. I haven't done a verbose bootup yet so it'll be interesting to see what...

    OS X 10.10.3 Update

I'd like a little advice before updating. I'm currently running 10.10.2 and everything is running almost perfectly, the only issue is with connecting to my bluetooth keyboard. I have had problems in the past with updates "breaking" my install and having to start from scratch each time. So this...

Where can I find a vanilla 10.10 image?

    Unfortunately not :D

Where can I find a vanilla 10.10 image?

I've had major problems since installing 10.10.2 - hanging on bootup when hdaenabler is enabled - and I want to go back to a fresh 10.10 install to test if my theory that 10.10.2 has broken something is correct. The problem is, I never kept a copy of 10.10 and I was wondering if there's an image...

"Live" Yosemite usb stick - is this possible?

Well its a relief to know it can be done. I'm using a Sandisk 32gb Ultra usb3 for this, which boots my Carbon Copy Cloner backup image. This works at high speed even on usb2. Well, in comparison to my 32gb Lexar usb2 stick anyway. I also have a 64gb Sandisk Extreme usb3. So I should be covered...

"Live" Yosemite usb stick - is this possible?

Is it possible to do a Yosemite install to a usb stick, so I can test everything is working before committing to a hard drive install? I tried it on a 32gb usb 3 stick earlier, but it wouldn't boot. But from what I've been reading, this may be more to do with the usb 3 stick than the software...

    HDAEnabler not working on 10.10.2?

Okay. I'm not sure why you want me to do this though, when its a HDMI Audio issue. I've posted in the graphics section then, if you want to have a look.

    HDAEnabler not working on 10.10.2?

    Sure, here it is. I've attached it as well. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string>...

    HDMI audio kext = gold?

So does this only work with graphics card hdmi? My previously working Gigabyte Z77 HD3000 hdmi audio output has stopped working after moving up to 10.10.2 so I was hoping this might be a quick fix.

    HDAEnabler not working on 10.10.2?

I have been using 10.10 for a while now with no issues. But when I tried installing the 10.10.2 update, it wiped out my bootup. So before I reinstalled, I downloaded the most recent full image from App Store and used it to create a new UniBeast usb stick. This installed ok, with no problems. So...

Installed fine but after reboot stuck on grey apple screen

Okay, I had this problem myself and it was driving me nuts. It turned out that I should've been installing fake smc at multibeast stage. I had avoided easybeast when running multibeast but it turns out that it sorted most of my problems out. I would also install the acpi rollback as well.

    Cloning the HD

I'm wondering the same thing as the OP. I've already downloaded CCC but I'm not sure how it works. I'f I make a "clone" is it an exact image of my OSX drive? And how do I restore it if things go pear shaped?

Back to the drawing board for Multibeast on 10.10.2

Okay, so it seems that including the following lines in org.chameleon.Boot.plist to enable hdmi audio is causing my bootup to fail: <key>HDAEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>HDEFLayoutID</key> <string>03000000</string> I'm not sure why this is as it is exactly the same...

Back to the drawing board for Multibeast on 10.10.2

So I downloaded the latest (10.10.2) OSX installer from app store yesterday as the update was bricking my installation. I created a new installation usb stick and went through the installation as normal. Then when I run Multibeast and use exactly the same settings as before, OSX won't boot...

    OS X 10.10.2 Update

My installation wouldn't boot after installing the the combo update. So its back to the drawing board.

    Stuck boot screen after multibeast

Absolutely 100% with the FakeSMC. If I could, I would kiss you :D If only guides would include this sort of information then clampetts like me wouldn't be getting our panties in a bunch.

    Stuck boot screen after multibeast

I don't even know what this means lol Fair enough. So why all the instructions to use UEFI when installing using unibeast and multibeast? I'm pretty sure the problem is to do with ACPI and I know about using the rollback option in Multibeast, but I've tried that before and it hasn't made any...
