The 950 doesnt appear to be based on Kepler architecture which would give me installation difficulties with Mavericks.

Thank you for the prompt response it was very helpful. SSD looks okay from diagnostics. I never found way to get my Corsair cs550m PS fan to work(?) so it has always been cooled by onboard fan. Perhaps that is the first step trying to get that going again before spending money on a GPU upgrade.

Did a quick search and didnt see this mentioned anywhere but Ive always had sound when I wake from sleep, but it only lasts ~20 seconds before shutting off. So weird, could someone work backwards from that to figure it out?
