Wondering if anyone has HS running on an X9DAi dual-CPU board. If so, can you please post a zip file of your EFI boot directory? I just purchased an open-box special from NewEgg for $235 and will be running 2x E5-2897v2 CPUs, 64G RAM, and an old R9-290x card. I had one many years ago running...
Videlam: I just bought the same board and am waiting for it to arrive. Can you please share your EFI folder? I plan on installing 2x E5-2697v2, 64G RAM, and an old R9-290x card.
Hoping someone could help here. I have a Gigabyte X99-UD4 system (F22 BIOS) with an EVGA GTX750Ti video card in slot 1. I installed High Sierra on my 2011 Mac Mini then did a Carbon Copy Cloner to a test drive. I cleared the cache files from /S/L/C and booted the X99 system using my clover...
Greetings all,
Long story short, my ATI R290X cards (I have two) are not working with 10.12 so I am looking for a pair of decent NVidia cards that are quiet and less than $120/ea. I picked up a pair of PNY 730 cards at BestBuy today for $60/ea. They worked great out of the box but are way too...
Well, it seems I am not alone. Evidently, there is a +78 page thread describing my exact issue. Looks like I need to go to an Nvidia card to get everything supported in Sierra. Any advice?
Hmmmm. Looks like I made a mistake. The other card is actually a Sapphire R9 270 2G DDR5 card (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I0D81OG/?tag=tonymacx86com-20)
So, the 270 card works OK (w/out acceleration). I wonder why the 290x card does not work.
Thanks for the quick reply. I had a spare Nvidia card lying around, dropped it in, and the system booted up just fine (direct to GUI mode). I did not have to use any of the nvidia boot options in clover (nv_disable=1, etc) for the system to boot.
Seems like I just need to find the special...
Greetings all,
I have been struggling with this for a while and decided to reach out to a larger audience.
I have a Gigabyte X99-UD4 board (F22 BIOS - Default Settings) with an R9-290X video card, 5960X CPU, and 32G RAM. It took a while, but I finally got a correct config.plist and...
Used Clover with UEFI support. That is the only way to get the 290x cards to properly boot.
The kernel string was "npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 -v"
By far, the easiest way to get everything working properly is to use another Mac running Mavericks. I spent days wrestling with the installer and...
In the end, I just went back to Mavericks due to all the graphics issues. I needed a 100% working system, and (in my opinion) Yosemite is just to immature to work reliably with the 290x cards. Mavericks is working great with 2x 290x cards - very fast and very stable.
I had the same problem on my new X99-UD4 build. I had to install the Generic USB-HCI drivers then reboot. Specifically, I installed the "GenericUSBXHCI-v1.2.7.pkg" file. Seems to work great now!
Thanks for the reply. I first tried without adding the Voodoo kext to the <SSD>/S/L/E directory but that did not work. Thinking I needed to add it, I then tried putting the kext to the <SSD>/S/L/E directory, but that did not work either. I also saw a post about removing all extensions from...
Greetings all,
I need some help getting my new Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 system running. I just got the board with an Intel 5960x CPU and 32G RAM. I followed the instructions from this guide to a "T" and am still getting stuck on the "PCI Configuration Begins" prompt. Here is what I have done:
