Hey, I've been away from this topic for awhile.. Dropped the idea of putting my RX580 into the case (it simply don't fit, because my 1080Ti is cooled with NZXT x62 kraken - takes too much space to fit 2 cards)
What do you mean by patching, could you please guide me for either 1 or 2 approach...
So we are pretty much stuck with 60hz at 4k with DP1.2 with nVidia cards - that's really really sad news, not just that we cant upgrade from High Sierra now we can't even upgrade to 4k with fast refresh rate :banghead:
I took my RX580 from work (cube) and I'll probably stick it to my home main...
nvidia - display information
AMD - display information
AMD - custom resolution (automatically prefilled)
" --source --signpost" parameters < these parameters are not valid on High Sierra (atleast)
PS! cube is also on High Sierra (just with AMD RX580)
I did disabled SIP, applied...
Ok, I just brought my other hackintosh (cube) from my office to home to test it with AMD RX580, 120hz wasn't naitivly there either, but installed the beta SwitchResX and 120hz was available in the list there - got it working right away. So there's something fishy with the Nvidia driver for sure now.
Monitor is connected via DP cable (what came with the monitor) to 1080Ti.
Attached two screenshot (first 60hz, other 120hz from gpu-z), kextstat and logstream.
GPU-z 60hz
GPU-z 120hz
Hey joevt, you've been very helpful here! Could you please look at my similar issue posted in this thread, would be really appreciated. :shifty: - trying to get my 4k running at 120hz
Just installed the "Beta" Version (4.9.1a2) but still not 120hz Native resolution options under "Current Resolutions", did "Restore factory settings" and restart but that didn't help either.
Hey, thanks for quick reply.. I've tried the alt/option part.. that only shows 60hz option as well (It might somehow be connected to the reason that MacOS seems to call my monster monitor "a TV")
I also installed SwitchResX (not beta tho) and tried to add manually a custom resolution with 120hz...
Hey,
For some reason I can't see any options to run my brand new Asus XG438Q at 4k above 60hz under High Sierra. It runs flawlessly under Win10 at 120hz. Is this problem tied with nvidia web driver or monitor support?
Is it even possible to run 4k more than 60hz with latest High Sierra web...

Hey, that would be cool.. I got my system working.. except audio and wifi (what I'm not using, as I'm behind a cable) if you could share your clover latest config and kexts would be nice ;)
Audio via dispayport would be good as well.
I'm currently installing Sierra to my Zotac EN1060 as well :) Guide would be cool, but what are mandatory kexts to make it work btw?
I'm currently stuck getting into the installer.. using FakeSMC, NullCPUPM, USBInjectAll kexts
HID: Legacy shim 2
Still waiting for rood device
And then big stop...
HMM! Instead of HDMI, I used two Displayport cables.. and chained another monitor from 1st one (they have DP-out as well, as they are DP1.2 monitors) but now instead of proper daisy chaining (works in windows) I get two screens mirroring same picture.. OSX just sees one screen, any solution for...
I have a EVGA 960GTX and I've connected two Dell U2515h (1440p) monitors to it, one into Displayport and other into HDMI.
Displayport works fine, but HDMI caps resolution to 2048x1152 (with highspeed cable) any way to fix that issue? :-? Everything works fine under Windows 10
Thanks!
I had everything installed.. and acceleration was working, but just DP didn't work.
- Found out that I had Inject Nvidia checked in clover configuration :banghead: DP and everything works now ;)
