Hi Rehabman In the "Do Not Stop Reading" section it referred to additional Audio steps in the Known problems, but I can't seem to find those instructions. I remember having to do something with the audio each update. Please advise.

Rehabman What do you use for imaging/backups? Prior to screwing this laptop up I took a backup with Super Duper but I wasn't able to restore it. Do you use any apps for complete imaging in the event something goes wrong?

You nailed it. I got it copied, booted, updated the repos and everything is working great.

Within OSx Terminal, I mounted the EFI partition and copied over a copy of the Lilu from https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/lilu/downloads/ into the Other folder but it doesn't seem to help. If I've fubar'd this thing I could just reinstall the entire lot. :/

Ok. I've never done anything within the Terminal app during the macOS install. Is there a guide or could you briefly explain what I need to do to atleast get booted?

I'm still using the original Sierra USB installer, I don't tihnk it can read the APFS. Oh boy, the troubles I get myself into lol.

Well, Something went terribly wrong with mine. I got booted the first time post-update and it said something about a 3rd Party ktext causing trouble with booting and it had disabled them. Stupid me, rebooted and now it just boot loops.

Not yet. I've been busy with a project at work and have not had a chance yet and I am not 100% sure on how to disable TRIM.
