Does Kaby Lake still need to be spoofed on latest High Sierra?

As per title... Last time I did a setup it was on Sierra, and that needed to be spoofed to Skylake. Do we still need to do this or has Apple included Kaby Lake support in High Sierra?

    Surface Pro 4

Hey all, I'd like to install High Sierra on my Surface Pro 4 (i7 2.2Ghz 8GB RAM). I know touch won't work, but it will be a "fun" project. Can it be installed internally, or do I need to use a USB 3 drive? I'm guessing a microSD card is too slow (but it would be a discreet install)...

    Z270X G5 - ALC1220 - Way too loud to start with

Hey all, With both built-in and USB external audio, this machine is too loud to begin with. At one volume notch it's ok, but if you turn it up to 5 notches you can hear it distorting internally, i.e. it's not the speakers crapping out. Anyone else come across this? BIOS change perhaps? Cheers, J

Urgent issue: External USB HD not showing up

Holy crap. Er... I don't suppose there's something prebuilt for this motherboard that we can just install/copy over??

Urgent issue: External USB HD not showing up

I've got an external powered hard drive, and it's not mounting or showing up in Disk Utility or System Profiler. I've tried all the USB ports. Fairly urgent problem :( This is the Z270X Gaming 5 board. Update: It's mounting on the USB 2.0 ports, but none of the 3.0 or 3.1 ports. It's a 3.0...

Can someone please tell me how to use FakeCPUID

I'll have a look for it. I've got it all working now but it sounds like this is a good feature to enable. Thanks for the info.

    Kaby Lake crashed at 5.0Ghz

Bit disappointed. I was running a GeekBench test and had a system shut down halfway through. Temperature is fine, BIOS is up to date and water cooler working well. Anyone else getting this?

    i7 7700K - OVERHEATING!

OP have you updated your BIOS? There was a known fault. They stuffed up the voltage values on the auto clocking for Kaby Lake and it runs way too hot.

Can someone with Z270X Gaming 5 + Kaby Lake share their config file with me?

If I were you, I'd be using a decent external USB sound card/device anyway. Board sound drivers are so damn dicky. Yeah CPU is a piece of **** once you know how. Bookmark this post and put on a message when you have your system all set up and I'll put in steps. What's your timeline anyway...

Still an outstanding issue - I think this is my last problem!

Can someone with Z270X Gaming 5 + Kaby Lake share their config file with me?

Yes. The CPU has to be spoofed which is easy to do, but you might need advice on the process. I haven't got sound working yet, other than via USB (which will always generally work without drivers). Other than on board sound, I think everything is working now. What GPU are you looking at...

[Solved] macOS Sierra can't see my second hard drive

Ok, hmm, this *seems* to have been solved by removing the extra drive from the boot order in BIOS. It doesn't have an OS so I removed it to keep things tidy - and yeah - it seems to now show up and mount in macOS. I'll keep an eye on it.

[SOLVED] Urgent question: Starting up on its own

Hey there, thanks for your reply. I think I've found the culprit, and it's not ideal. The computer is plugged into the monitor via USB 3.0 in order to power the monitor's USB hub. Useful for mouse/keyboard etc. I think the screen was pulsing power back and turning the computer on. Seems to be...

[SOLVED] Urgent question: Starting up on its own

My new Hackintosh is starting up on its own after I shut it down - usually after about 30 seconds. How can I stop it doing this?? Disabling Wake on LAN in BIOS did not fix it.

    [SOLVED] YouTube videos won't play

OK! They don't play because the sound driver doesn't work. I plugged in USB audio, and voila, YouTube videos play now. Thanks Google for deciding that I'm not allowed to watch videos without sound.

    [SOLVED] ALC1220 not working

Hey all, Z270X Gaming 5 motherboard that uses the ALC1220 chipset. I've installed the Realtek ALC1220 and 100/200 Series Audio drivers in MultiBeast but have no sound. The input/output ports show up in audio preferences however, and it detects headphones being plugged in. Anyone have working...

    [SOLVED] YouTube videos won't play

Next problem. YouTube videos won't play. Tried Safari and Chrome. Basically, the video loads about 30-40%, and shows a fixed frame, and I can kind of click through to show other frames, but it refuses to play the video. The spinning loader doesn't stop. Latest Pascal drivers on 10.12.5...
