craighazan My hackintosh is still on High Sierra and i'm running into software compatibility issues requiring me to upgrade. Why not run it on Windows, use wine on mac os or under linux with proton?
Thanks for the quick reply, I wondered if that were the case. I haven’t figured out all of the quirks for the z370-e, 8700K yet. I’m stretched pretty thin with school, working full time, getting settled into a new home and kid stuff.
I don't get the same UI lag when I use my iGPU as I do with my GTX1080. When I use the iGPU my resolutions options are only 4k and 1080pHDPI. Typically I run at 2560x1440 HDPI, is there a fix for this? I'm running the iMac 14,2 system definition is there a better definition for an 8700K that...
The clover wiki links don't give me enough information.
I already know I need to generate an smUUID for messages to work that wasn't what I asked. The MLB and the board serial number are the same number and you have to enter it under both SMBIOS and RTvariables. I wanna make sure it's not the...
What is the difference between the Custom UUID in System Parameters and the SmUUID? Do I need to generate a different UUID for both of those or use the same UUID?
Apple can put all the power they want in a laptop but without better cooling, it's probably going to thermal throttle on me when I render. I'm starting to tinker with Peltier chips for active cooling. I just need to figure out how to use an Arduino to control the temp so I don't go sub ambient...
A couple of days ago or so there was a Nvidia update 387.10.10.10.30.106. It sure seems to have far better performance than the previous version on my System.
Is the list of eGPU also a good list of GPUs to use as my primary GPU in MacOS? I don't want to give up my GTX1080 but the web drivers aren't great and I've been doing a fair bit of 3D modeling lately using Modo.
Thank you for taking a look at my setup and the suggestions. I originally had all of the kext in the same folder under 10.13 and saw that it was suggested to put FakeSMC.kext in the kext/other so I did. The motherboard came with the AzureWave mini card with the Boardroom chipset that supports...
I've had no problems until now since I built my system in 2014. I enabled the iGPU to get hardware video decode and it's been a little finicky ever since. I assume it's related to the iGPU.
My system successfully boots into High Sierra less than 50% of the time. When it fails I get the dreaded circle with a slash through it. When it works everything works, wifi, GPU video acceleration, sound, ect.
Are you using APFS? I also had that problem and trying to install thru the app store didn't work either. It seemed to work then just didn't and said 10.13.2 when it rebooted.
When it boots it works, but it doesn't always boot. When it won't boot, it doesn't boot several times in a row. My system definition is 14,1 but I edited my AppleGVA.framework so 14,1 matches 14,2.
