    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi @CaseySJ how's it been mate? Long time! It's been more than a year since I last visited here since I've had the most stable Z390 Xtreme EFI with Catalina for sometime now. Now, since it's the New Year, I'm planning to upgrade Big Sur/Monterey. Just wanted to ask help from my fellow Xtreme...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi @Lukey1979 thanks for this. I just had to edit some minor parts in config.plist but it worked flawlessly. Awesome stuff! I already updated to the latest Safari before I even used your EFI and I'm actually even surprised that Netflix worked for you as I never got it to work like ever. So even...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi @Lukey1979 I see you're using the latest version of OC. I'm still at 5.8 and when I tried using the latest one, it's caused me a lot of issue. Would it be okay if you share your current EFI so I can inspect and compare to mine? We have exactly the same specs btw. Z390 Xtreme, 9900K and 5700...

Help configuring OpenCore for Gigabyte Z390 + i9-9900k

Hey man, sorry for the late reply. Busy with work. Anyway, here's my EFI that I originally got from @Covalt but had to re-do the config.plist from scratch since I upgraded to OC 0.5.9. Let me know if it works for you. (Also, I removed the MLB, Serial and UUID, just fill it in with your own)

Help configuring OpenCore for Gigabyte Z390 + i9-9900k

Hey @Covalt thanks for this mate! I've downloaded it and it kinda won't work so I did the whole config.plist creation again from the Dortania tutorial. Everything's working now but I will have to test the Bluetooth more if it's stable and not randomly disconnecting. Sorry to hear about your...

Help configuring OpenCore for Gigabyte Z390 + i9-9900k

Hey @Covalt nice to hear everything's going well with your setup. I tried your Windows suggestion and I was having a smooth time until unfortunately just minutes ago, my bluetooth dropped again. Had to restart by screen sharing my Hack from my MBP. Anyway, yeah, it'd be really great if you could...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

I see. Noted on that. In case I decide to use my RX 580 to it, do you have any idea how I can get Displayport to display instead of just black screen? I only get display when I use HDMI currently using your OC EFI. Also, just wondering, what BIOS version are you currently?

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

Yeah, I physically remove my RX 580 when I try to use the iGPU. But still, HDMI out only and no display for DisplayPort. I'll try enabling WEG in @scottkendall 's OC EFI and see if it actually displays using iGPU. Will update here. In any case, I'll just use one of the HDMI monitors I have...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

Well, that makes sense. Never thought of checking if WEG was loaded in the config.plist I'll try to enable it and see if it works in making my iGPU work. But yeah for now I think I'll stick with Clover for this build. I'll update you thought if enabling it in config.plist makes it work. Perhaps...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

Yeah, I saw your F12 guide. But I'm not using 9900K for this (I use 8700 same as yours) so I didn't bother. That's weird, I use Gigabyte RX 580 as well. The 4GB version. But I just can't get it to display using Displayport. I'm using a 144hz monitor, does it matter? For the guide you sent...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

@jamesst20 Actually I have to agree with you. I used the OC EFI of @scotkendall and it went well as long as I use the HDMI of my RX 580 but I can't get it to boot at all when I remove the 580 and just use the iGPU. With your "Latest EFI" I initially had a problem with getting stuck at the first...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

Hi @scottkendall I saw you post your OC EFI. Just wondering if you have an updated EFI or are you still using the current one you sent? Also, any issues you have with using this? Planning on trying out your OC EFI and the Clover EFI above. Thanks

Whoa, that's a dead for me. Haha. So between this 2 EFi's, which one should I use. The one that says latest or the other? Also, any issues with this? Like, does sleep work? Audio, network, etc? Thanks for the prompt reply

Help configuring OpenCore for Gigabyte Z390 + i9-9900k

@Covalt Hey mate real sorry for the delay in my reply. Been super busy with work especially with this whole pandemic thing (I work from home). Anyway, I have exactly the same issue with you with the Fenvi and just like you, I just opted to use the bluetooth dongle I have lying around somewhere...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 5 - 4k RX 580 - 10.13.4 & 10.14.4 & 10.15.0 - SSDT

@jamesst20 Cool. That's good to hear. Hope it works without a hitch with or without the RX 580. Anyway, again the 2 EFI's you sent were both for Clover. Is it okay if you send your OpenCore EFI folder? Thanks so much!!

Thanks @jamesst20 just downloaded it. Will check it first thing when I get home. Also, if I decide to not use the RX 580 and use the igpu instead, do I need to change anything in the EFI? Would you be so kind to lead me how to do it? Thanks so much!!! :)
