Just a question.... Are you using a unibeast USB key?? If so, are you remembering that U have to boot the unibeast key agian after you've installed mt Lion to install the chimera or chameleon loader?

Your m/b CPU and GPU will all work fine. The hd2000 graphics in your i5 is not supported but since you have dedicated GPU it doesn't matter. Some people have had some issues with the gts450 but I personally have not. I am not on mountain lion yet.. Still on lion
What USB audio device are you trying to use? Did you look in system preferences and change the output device?
I use a m-audio FireWire controller and it requires an app from m-audio to work properly, so u might need a driver.
Definitely not a 775 socket issue. I'm running snow, lion, amd mt lion on a q6600 , 8300, and a core2 duo e6750.
As far as your install goes, have you tried any boot flags? We need more info to help you.
Sounds bad... Try putting it in an external case, booting your system and then plugging it in to USB to repair it. Do you have another drive you can load osx onto temporary so you can access the drive as external?

Ok That makes sense.. I think with lion the VGA probably just isnt supported. Hell I dont think real macs havent supported it in years without a dvi to vga adapter.... could be wrong about that though. I think once you get your new card in you should be all good on dual monitor setup.
