Hello,
I am trying to install OS X Yosemite on my Asus Z97-Deluxe hackintosh (i7 4790k, GTX 780)
I had a perfectly working Clover install following the tips on this thread...
Mavericks: Surround Sound [Guide]
Some news.
I managed to get proper DTS passthrough today. When I had an ALC888 codec, I used multibeast's AppleHDA with the following patch from one of toleda's guide
$ sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x88\x08\xec\x10|\x80\x08\xec\x10|g'...
I did read it and it explicitly says in Player test results that with Optical 5.1, VLC works. This may be a mistake though, considering that I read the opposite everywhere else. But I was hoping.
Anyway, I posted in the other thread to avoid filling this one with off-topic messages.
Mavericks: Surround Sound [Guide]
I am using the Optical digital output with an ALC1150 soundcard and I finally found why DTS wasn't working: in Audio MIDI Setup, the format for Digital Out was set to 44.1kHz. Setting it to 48kHz fixed DTS decoding using MPlayerX.
Still doesn't work with VLC...
I read this already, I posted here because it seemed to be the audio troubleshooting thread. Should I move my question in that other thread?
Anyway I tried to install the AppleHDA from Multibeast, all inputs/outputs work but still no digital audio...
Is it possible to get surround sound via Optical with the ALC1150 on Mavericks 10.9.4?
I have an Asus Z97-DELUXE and a DTS compatible audio system (Logitech Z906) and I can't get DTS passthrough to work...
I am using Clover and used the cloverALC method...
Hi,
I had a fully working Snow Leopard 10.6.8 install. Here are my specs:
Intel i7 860
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3
XFX HD 6870
It worked almost natively, never had a problem when updating from 10.6.0 to 10.6.8 over the last year. I followed the Lion walkthrough on tony's blog. When I tried booting on...
Well the only thing I can think is that the GA-P55-UD3 doesn't have an ALC888 audio chip, but that's odd because on Gigabyte's website it says ALC888... Is there a reliable way to know exactly which chip do I have?
Also should I have another Kext in Extras/Extensions? Because to get my current...
Re: New ALC888 32/64-bit 10.6.4 AppleHDA.kext!
Nope, still not working, but at least it fixed the USB not working when waking up. I'm sticking with my AppleHDA.kext. But yours seems better :(
Re: New ALC888 32/64-bit 10.6.4 AppleHDA.kext!
I can't find the link. It was at the end of this blog post but it got removed apparently.
I just noticed that I don't have the latest DSDT from tony's database so I'll try that.
Re: New ALC888 32/64-bit 10.6.4 AppleHDA.kext!
Can't get your Kext to work. I installed it with Kext helper then used Kext utility, and after reboot, still no sound. I had to use another AppleHDA kext I found some time ago on tony's blog. But I don't understand because I have a GA-P55-UD3 with...
