[SUCCESS] HP Z600 High Sierra Installation Guide

Success at last! And not only success, but Mojave success! But I had to use my RX 480 instead of the older single-slot FirePro. Which is fine, anyway. I guess there was just something the z600 doesn't like about that Firepro w7000 for booting purposes.

[SUCCESS] HP Z600 High Sierra Installation Guide

Oh, it's not that I can't boot with the FirePro in it -- the GPU is working fine. But I have to keep the Quadro sitting in that slot just taking up a slot so the machine doesn't do the six-beeps on boot that indicate there isn't a supported GPU in the slot.

[SUCCESS] HP Z600 High Sierra Installation Guide

Fantastic guide. Running great on a Rev. 1 z600. Thanks a ton. My one wish is that I could find a way to boot without this old Quadra fx580 in it. The variety of supported GPUs on this model is very small, apparently. And when I try to boot with my FirePro w7000 as the primary boot card, I get...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

So this post has gotten long enough, and the release of Sierra is close enough, that we might consider putting together a master post of AMD compatibility in Sierra for those of us who have trouble parsing 40-odd pages of conflicting reports from 7 iterations of public beta. Any plans to do that?

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Anyone have luck with PB5 yet?

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

This sounds promising. My machine is super-hosed right now, but I'm eager for a working rx 480 solution.

macOS Sierra Public Beta 3 is Now Available

Where do i get 3670? I can only find 3650 at the site.

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Wait, are you sure you have acceleration?

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

So despite those settings, when I boot, it uses only the default frame buffer as seen here: Any ideas?

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

It's the Fake device ID that's not sticking, whether through Clover Configurator, editing with the plist editor from XCode, or by hand. Will attach a config.plist when I'm back at that machine.

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

I'm sorry. I know I must seem like a complete dunce. But what I actually need to know is just what the syntax is for editing these into my config.plist. I can't seem to find that anywhere in the guide, probably because they presume I already know phow to do that.

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

OK, so when I try to spoof deviceID and framebuffer it doesn't stick. I've tried in both Clover Configrator and by hand. I'm sure there's something basic that I'm missing about this. The only change I notice is that sometimes About this Mac will report my card as an R9 xxx 8192Gb but Clover sees...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

I have rx480 running without acceleration on Sierra. Will take suggestions for getting acceleration working. My system: i5-3750 gigabyte z77x-ud3h Sapphire reference rx 480 8gb Running Sierra with Clover 3650 as of this morning. I've always been lucky enough to have GPUS that worked more or...

How to Create a macOS Sierra Public Beta Installation USB

I am. I have it booting and everything is fine but no acceleration yet. Tips welcome.

    Kernel panics after install

Yeah, definitely true about USB being tricky. Still trying to figure out this Device ID/Framebuffer injection situation. Never done this before since I always had a card that worked out of the box. rx 480 is working but only for 2d. no acceleration or anything and quartz obviously is super slow.

    Kernel panics after install

OK, so update. :) Nuked all old kexts entirely. Not sure if it actually helped but it couldn't hurt. Reinstalled FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext. USB wifi is working -- but only from the rear USB ports, not the front. I think it's probably a power situation, though the front ports...

    Kernel panics after install

Update: It wasn't just Evoreboot.kext that was causing the problems. The 10.11 Realtek drivers I was using from the manufacturer were also causing those KPs, and still are after clean installation of them. Anyone with a TP-Link T4U, take caution. The drivers from TP-Link that worked in 10.11...

    Kernel panics after install

OK, after a few days (literally) banging away at this, I eliminated all traces of EvOreboot.kext and the thing boots now. Next up, before I can test rx480 acceleration, I need to get my USB wifi adapter working. KP's out the wazoo whenever it's plugged in. El Cap drivers don't help. Any ideas?

    Kernel panics after install

I can boot to the installer just fine, go through, reboot, finish install, then reboot again and am beset by constant KPs. I've tried everything -- forcing graphics, not forcing them, killing all my caches, etc -- and I'm frankly at a loss. specs: i5-3570k gigabyte z77x-ud3h GPU -- brand new...

[SUCCESS] Working GA-Z77x-UD3H OSX Mavericks 10.9.1 Build (Audio, LAN, etc.)

thank you SO much for this. Editing my podcast in Garageband was a big reason I wanted to move production over to a Hackintosh from my Macbook. This is the only solution to the UD3h sound issues that i've found to work. THANKS.
