Hi BoomR - I did a clean install to Mavericks last week and everything's running great. I'm use DP8.07 and Logic 10.1 with a Symphony i/o over usb. I'm thinking of going with the Symphony 64pcie for better latency and stability.
You went w/ the Avid card at the beginning due to issues w/ the...
Thanks for the tip. I plan to experiment and put a pcie card into the open pciex8 slot. I've read that the GPU doesn't gain (can't fully utilize) the full bandwidth anyway, so using the pciex8 and pcix16 should work.
I have a working TPLink-TLWND4800 PCIe card but need the slot for other music peripherals. Has anyone used the PCI version of the same card TL-WN751ND?
Saw this on eBay and wonder if it will work...
I did a clean install on a new SSD today and upgraded to a GTX650 using Stork's guide and it went well: USB 3.0 worked, sleep worked. MySystem recognized all the components. Then I shutdown and started adding the rest of my system: ram (16gb), other HDs, PCIe cards and now it goes to black...
I downloaded Mavericks on the MacMini when I updated it from ML.
Sounds simple enough. I'm also upgrading my Nvidia 9800GT video card to a EVGA 650gtx. Is it plug and play?
Why not run Mavericks? It looks to be compatible and is known to be very stable.

Reviving and old thread...I'm on Lion 10.7.x with the same board but with F10 bios. My sleep works fine but no USB3. I only use the machine for music production so don't know about sound issues. I have a usb interface for sound. I just bought a used EVGA GeForce GTX650 to upgrade my video card...
I know this is an old post but I'm just now "upgrading" my setup to Mavericks. Wondering if going UEFI is worth it. I'm also on F10 Bios on this mobo. Sleep is a must for me as well. USB3 hasn't been working but I've gotten used to it.
Thanks
The PCIe 2.0 x16 is next to two PCIe x1 slots and the video card takes up two slots, so I'd lose one PCIe slot. It's too late for me to buy another mobo. I'm thinking to upgrade my graphics card and try it in the PCIe x8 card towards the bottom.
Sorry, if this is slightly off-topic. Just built my hack last month and want to upgrade my 9800GT to a 660Ti or similar but it won't fit in the PCI2.0 x16 slot as I have all my PCIe slots filled. (UAD2 card, TP-Link (TL-WDN4800), and Syba SD-PEX30009 firewire).
Can I run it in the PCIe2.0 x8...
Hi Chiel - I have a similar system (not as robust video card) but only get geekbench scores of 5600. I originally used UserDSDT with the dsdt from this site. Did you just use EasyBeast by itself or also with Userdsdt?
Successfully built with the Apple branded BCM94322MC card few months ago and now doing another one for my second hack. I don't want to spend too much and see the HP BCM94322 cards. Do I have to use the prasys method to "brand" it to an Apple card or will it work OOB?
