Update went fairly smoothly, took about twenty minutes after I had updated kexts as recommended.

Y You have to go to tools in Hackintool and select the little house icon at bottom to disable gatekeeper and mount disk in read/write mode first then install.

Had to do a complete fresh install, was stuck in an endless loop. All good now though. Had slight issues with booting as the new clover folder arrangement stumped me for a bit.

After some more research I have discovered the asmedia 1142 chip does not work in Mojave ,but allegedly the asmedia 2142 chip does so Ive ordered a card with this chipset and will let you know the outcome... many thanks for your help.
