I can't think of any reason why the vbios would change when you shut down. Have you tried the original bios or the DD bios with the d700 vendor and subsystem ids? I would guess this would give you the best chance of having all ports working. What program are you using to edit the bios? Also...

My only suggestion would be to double check and make sure IGPU is disabled in the bios and you have IGPEnabler = No in your boot.plist. Have any of the roms you've tried changed the way the card is identified by Luxmark?

Have you tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes with the Asus bios flashed? I know most 280x cards require it in 10.9.2. Cant really think of a way around the port issues. I'm not sure if trying a different frame buffer personality can do anything when the bios has been changed. I have seen on other forums...

    280x Not recognised by Mavericks

Hi, I started having the same problems with Final Cut crashing. I disabled Intel Processor Graphics in the bios and all seems well now. Hope that helps. Update: I've been doing a bit more in FCPX and it's going really good except when it comes to using the neat video plugin. The card shows...

What bios did you flash? For some reason every time I launch Luxmark now, the computer freezes, so no updates there. I was able to run the brucex benchmark, it took 26 seconds when exporting as Apple ProRes HQ.

Haven't really had a chance to do anymore testing. I get out of work early today and should have some time to try and tweak it a little more. I do use FCPX, but haven't gotten around to doing anything with the card working. I'll run the BruceX benchmark tonight and post the results here.

    280x Not recognised by Mavericks

It appears that the 280x non Black Edition is the same as the 7970 OC Black. Both have a clock speed of 1000Mhz. Only difference i can see is the 280x has a higher memory clock. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on the x79 boards, as I was having the same problems as everyone else before i...

    280x Not recognised by Mavericks

Small update on my progress with the card. I was able to get my Luxmark score up to 2077 using GraphicsEnabler=No. Still don't have full QE/CI though. Card shows up as AMD Radeon HD 7xxx 3072 MB in about this mac and as AMD Radeon HD Tahiti XT Prototype Compute Engine in Luxmark.

    280x Not recognised by Mavericks

Hi, I'm running it on a z87 board, but as far as I can tell the problem isn't compatibility with the board, it's with the operating system. The Luxmark score was for the gpu only. It scores a 2369 under windows and only a 1326 in OS X.

    280x Not recognised by Mavericks

I have successfully gotten my XFX R9-280X Black Edition to work in mavericks. In windows i downloaded the video bios for the XFX R9-280X DD non black edition from techpowerup and flashed it to the card using ATIWinFlash. I now have native support using GraphicsEnabler=Yes. Not exactly an ideal...

I'm not sure about flashing to a 7970, but maybe flashing the video bios from a known working 280x would work.

I'm almost certain it's the card. I also have the XFX R9 280x Black Edition and am having the same problems. For me, the problem seems to be that the AMDFramebuffer.kext isn't loading. I've tried all combinations of AtiConfig and ATIPorts and an edited frame buffer with no success. edit: Even...
