Updated on my Z490 Aorus Ultra running OC 0.9.8 with no issues.
Before applying the update I needed to:
- Set SecureBootModel to Disabled before restarting to apply the update
- Update to the latest alpha version (AirportItlwm-Sonoma14.4-v2.3.0-DEBUG-alpha-e886ebb.zip) of the AirportItlwm...
Thank you @UtterDisbelief . Unfortunately I get the same behaviour and the installer fails with the last message as per the previous screenshot "[ACHI][DISK][00170050] setPowerState...."
@UtterDisbelief , unfortunately not joy.
I've tried to remove all superfluous kernel extensions only leaving what is required to boot OpenCore:
- Lilu.kext
- SMCProcessor.kext
- SMCSuperIO.kext
- VirtualSMC.kext
- WhateverGreen.kext
..and the following for ACPI:
- SSDT-AWAC.aml

Hi,
I am struggling to get my Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Ultra to boot the MacOS installer using OpenCore 0.9.8, macOS Sonoma 14.4 and a iMac 20,1 SMBios. OpenCore itself seems to load fine.
I have followed the Dortania guide to create an EFI (attached - Serial, ROM and MLB redacted) however I must be...
Unfortunately not smooth.
Had to clear NVRAM for the update to take effect, otherwise it would apply with no errors but stay on 14.3.2.
Once I clear the NVRAM I encountered "denied" the error as others have indicated which required me to temporarily set SecureBootModel to Disabled for the...
Managed fix this buy updating my Info.plist inside the new kext for my Z490 Auros Ultra to follow the format of my old kext for my GA-Z490MX-Gaming X with the new mappings for my Z490 Auros Ultra.
Be interesting to understand from someone else why this works.
<?xml version="1.0"...
I have managed to track this down to my Corsair H115i USB connected to HS08 - Internal USB2 Right in the plist in my previous post.
This is odd as having the internal USB header enabled with the H115i was not causing an issue on my GA-Z490M Gaming X.
It also seem that the new version of...
Attached is a revised kext after reviewing the output of USBToolBox in Windows as well as the included Info.plist inside the kext. Unfortunately I still get the instant wake from sleep...

Hi,
I have switched from a Z490M Gaming X to a Z490 Auros Ultra board.
For some reason my machine will no longer sleep and I get an immediate wake from sleep which I believe may be attributed to USB however my USB map seems to be fine?
% log show --last boot --style syslog | fgrep "Wake...
Hi,
See the attached config.plist for OpenCore 9.2
You will need to:
Generate your ownROM,MLB and SystemUUID as per the Dortania guides where you see GENERATE_YOUR_OWN in the config.plist.
The SMBios is iMac17,1 with a dedicated GPU as denoted by a setting of 04001204 (in hex - use Xcode to...
There seems to an interesting post on Github here which relates to creating PowerPlay tables for new Radeon family GPU's in MacOS - https://github.com/perez987/6600XT-on-macOS-12-13-with-PowerPlayTable
The way the process works is to take your existing GPU ROM and then extract the settings which is then updated in the ROM file. Note, however that the updated ROM file is not flashed back to the GPU. Instead the PowerPlay table settings are identified using the Hex editor and injected in the...
It should work. You may also need to generate your own USB map, depending on which internal ports you want active or not (due to the 14 port limit). Note that the EFI folder is probably out of date for the latest version of OpenCore (which introduces regular changes - most backward compatible...
I have now posted my full EFI folder in the updated description for MacOS Ventura.
Please note that you must set your own values as per the Dortania guides to use this in the config.plist file and as per the warning in the description.
This may be helpful for someone else, however I have noticed that my iPhone is not detected for Continuity Camera unless I have a webcam plugged in via USB.
Once I have a USB camera plugged in, Continuity Camera works as expected.
I speculate that this may be related to my choice to use an...
