So after more investigation...
Using the "PEGP to GFX0" ACPI patch (which I believe I added for Final Cut Pro along the way), does affect the ./gfxutil -f GFX0 check. Removing it I got the full path as shown in the guide, which I'm using.
Also thanks @pmcnano, it does appear the kext I had...
So this looks like exactly what I need to get Clover back to using "detect" for injection and still have the fans fixed. (Currently I'm injecting the VGTab kext).
Only thing is, when running the gfxutil check command I get:
DevicePath = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)
Rather than...
Ok, so if I understand that correctly then basically the system will boot from the cached kexts only (nothing from clover) unless FakeSMC is not found in the cache -- in which case clover will inject whatever is applicable from its kext directories. (for something like recovery) Does that sound...
I wonder about this also. I see many (knowledgable) people on here advocating /L/E for everything except FakeSMC and potentially ethernet in Clover. But as I see it:
/S/L/E - to be avoided, lots of system kexts and no real reason to use vs other locations. No argument here.
/L/E - used for...
@jb007 Thanks... that's working for me :)
@riverrat42 I'm using a VegaTab_64.kext for my Vega 64 that's generated by the VGTab app. Basically I saw information on it in this build. I just changed the following settings from the defaults (which seem a little odd):
Idle Speed: 700...
Wow... getting through a 119 page thread can really make a guy thirsty :crazy:, but I made it. Thanks to HackaShaq and others for their work here. I'm just wrapping up a slightly modified build with a fresh Mojave 10.14.2 install:
GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 7
EVGA Supernova G3 1000W
Intel...
For people hitting this, another possible cause is how you formatted the USB key before using Unibeast on it. Disk Utility has three partition scheme options as of High Sierra. Using "Apple Partition Map" can cause this. So be sure the key is formatted with GUID Map for UEFI installs.
Very nice build! I have parts for similar (but a little slower/cheaper ;) ) system sitting here that I'm about to get started with. I was just hoping for some video card input, as I actually have three Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64's (same as this build) sitting here. Don't ask. :)
Basically...
Sorry if this is sitting in a guide I missed, but I've been browsing what seems like an endless amount of threads looking for what is currently the highest performing video card under Mojave with native support. I'm mainly interesting in buttery smooth desktop performance w/ two 4k displays...
Well, Pixelmator Pro does require the Mac is Metal2 compatible for some of its features. So it's smart on their end to be checking models to make sure it's one that does support Metal2 via Apple's list, otherwise they will just get bad reviews from crashes where people are using old hardware...
That's odd. Both of my machines are setup as iMac14,2 "Late 2013" which meets the "iMac models from 2012 or later" restriction for Metal that Pixelmator Pro links to. Yet one works through the App Store and the other doesn't. So it seems like Apple's check also verifies other items related to...
Unfortunately it won't. Same requirements check comes up on updates. So you basically have to copy it over again. At least that's what I've been doing so far.
Hard to guess, but I feel like some CPU model/info check is the snag, at least in my case. As I have one working machine and that...
Well the 2009 Mac Pro profile would "technically" be too old for Metal support: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205073
Although even if you bumped that up to something more recent, I'm not sure that would allow the Mac App Store download/purchase to work.
From what I've seen though, you...
FWIW I got a new video card for my work machine (GTX1080) which I swapped in last week. Pixelmator Pro still installs and updates fine there. I brought the old video card from that machine (GTX760) home and installed it, and Pixelmator Pro still won't install directly from the App Store. So...
Was excited for Pixelmator Pro to release and bought it day one. Installed fine from the Mac App store and ran great on my work machine hackintosh (iMac14,2 + GTX760). However on my older home hackintosh (iMac14,2 + GT640) the App Store gives "This computer does not meet the minimum install...
I've been reading through various threads here trying to figure out what the best options are driving a 4K monitor (and ideally 2 other non 4K displays) under High Sierra. Currently I'm running an nVidia GTX 760 4GB driving a WQHD display and two others (1680x1050 and 1280x1024), which is...
