Update for those who want to update to 10.8.5 Change org.chameloen.Boot.plist in /Extra: Set npci=0x2000 Without the boot flag (as suggested somewhere), it did not boot any more and with 0x3000 after updating to 10.8.5 ethernet stopped working.

    ksosx86 Build, X79 Extreme4 - Core i7-3930K 4.2 GHz - Dual NVIDIA Geforce GTX 470s. Revised for ML

Thanks for sharing. Worked quite well for me (ASRock Extreme 4M), however onboard firewire is kind of flawed: It does detect my audio interface but as soon as I start playback, my keyboard (USB as well as Bluetooth) stop working. I switched to firewire via PCI card (Allegro), there it's all...

Asus Rampage IV Gene & Mountain Lion

Unfortunately, the only posts I found about this board are on legacy.tonymacx86.com where one cannot write any more. Therefore I had to start a new topic here. My question is whether somebody managed to get ML running on this board... the original posts were all for Lion and I cannot get Lion...

    [Success] ASUS P8P67, Core i7 2600k, 8GB Corsair Vengeance

In the meantime i googled around for an answer. Some things I found out: - RAM speed for core i2000 is 1333 MHz - overclocking by setting different multipliers for the CPU (obviously) does not alter RAM speed, thus 1600 is not needed when overclocking via open multipliers. - it is possible to...

    [Success] ASUS P8P67, Core i7 2600k, 8GB Corsair Vengeance

That's part of my question ;) I'm absolutely not into technical details and am wondering what happens when you use 1600 RAM. Does it run with 1333MHz or is the RAM multiplier automatically set to to 16? As I my field of application (scientific computing (CPU) and music production (CPU)) does...

    [Success] ASUS P8P67, Core i7 2600k, 8GB Corsair Vengeance

Hi retrostate, thanks for your detailled answer... appreciate it! I am still confused which RAM I should get then, I'm actually less into it than you (built my last pc 10 years ago). Maybe that means that 1600 are only needed when overclocking? But then, that doesn't make sense to me. Why...

    [Success] ASUS P8P67, Core i7 2600k, 8GB Corsair Vengeance

Hi, I am currently building my system and this statement confused me: How is that? Why would the -M model not allow 1600MHz by default? It is using the same chipset, isn't it? I found another thread regarding the -M, but he or she failed at that time and has not posted any update yet. Sorry...
