I am using catalina to try this, I wasn't able to get Big Sur to work, I still have the prohibitory symbol. I tried again and tested every port, none work when the SSDT-EHCx_OFF.aml is being used.

I made an OpenCore 0.8.9 installer with ProperTree for Big Sur, started it up from USB and while it is going through the install, I get a circle with a line through it supposedly meaning my hardware is not supported. I am unsure if that is true, or if I have something set wrong in the .plist...

So best to just go with Big Sur if I want to keep my GPU, otherwise, any idea if the rest of my hardware will support Monterey or Ventura?

Yes, the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-OC has been running for a few years after the surge and has been fine. I have it running right now but but given the trouble I just had, I would like to do an OC install and get it up to date with either catalina or bigsur.

Yes. I was doing exactly that. I found an old thumb drive from a year ago when I was trying to get OC working, and that one booted to the OC screen and I was able to clear the nvram which ended up getting me into my old CLOVER boot, but the OC file you were generous to share with me did not...

Yes. Tried to boot again choosing the thumb drive efi, and it’s just a black screen now instead of that logo

It didn’t work. F12, used the efi from the thumb drive, stuck on the next screen.
