Hi there, was also trying to upgrade to windows 11, and following CaseySJ's guide, I got it done!
and also with some google-ing, I installed it without upgrading to newer BIOS by bypassing the TPM.
I used the alternative method...
Update, the i225v only works if I plugged the Ethernet in before switch on the Mac.
If I unplugged it, and then turn it on, it will go into kernel panic after I log in shortly after.
And after I got it working and switched on, I can unplug and plug it no problem.
and BTW I think I should add in...
Just tried this method from the post:
It works! I can go to safari, google and download things, even after around 30 mins, so it seems stable.
Thanks! I just tried it, it boots, but is the i225v ethernet not in device properties? it didn't show up in system info, in system preference-> network there is a PCI ethernet slot Internal@0,1,2/0,2/9,0/0,0. I plugged in a ethernet cable, it shows as self-assigned IP, and after a while, it go...
Hi @CaseySJ, i was reading the replies again and trying to learn from what you have change with the config.plist of D-P board, would you mind uploading the config.plist or the whole EFI folder you mentioned in this post at #1054?
yup, just tried to plug in my thunderbolt 3 dock (belkin express dock) and old thunderbolt 2 hdd(WD my book thunderbolt 2 duo) in, both didn't work. :(
gonna try something more tomorrow. Do anyone knows IF i flash my thunderbolt firmware, is it gonna make this port cannot work as a usb-c port...
Hello again, I just installed the Big Sur 11.5.1 into the new machine; the installation went pretty smoothly. BTW, I'm using f11 BIOS, cause it just comes with it, and I cannot download the F12 BIOS from the Gigabyte website for whatever reason.
WiFi, Bluetooth, airdrop, every USB-A port...

First of all, thanks for this tremendous guide! It really is thoroughly written and easy to understand even for newbies like me.
Around July I bought this motherboard as well as the 5900x, rx6800xt, broadcom card, and bunch of hardware mentioned in the 1st page. I even...
It has been a while since my last visit, and, because I want to switch to OpenCore, here I come again and find out the massive update!
I have now updated to OpenCore 0.6.2 using your EFI, and my macOS is also uptodate now, with 10.15.7.
Just want to say again thank you so much for all...
Super excited about the success!
and thanks again for the port multiplier, getting one right now!
And yes, i can only install Catalina with the checked InjectIntel and fakeid as 0x12345678, just like @heyelly mentioned before.
Yeah I know the f_usb plug can control two ports, but my h510i case also need one for the 3 fans installed.
So I already used up both of them.
thanks anyway! here is the photos of the f_usb port currently look like:
I just finished the whole process in #10201, installed RX 5700XT and Fenvi WiFi card.
All works! Including the Fenvi card and RX 5700 XT. However, since my NZXT fans and x62 cooler both need the f_usb of the mobo to work, there is no place for me to plug in the Bluetooth port of the Fenvi card...
WOW! You even did the extra for me! Great thanks! I will install that later when I finished the whole installation.
I have tried to do the iGPU method, with your iGPU config and added fakeid also InjectIntel ticked.
Although I also get the gIOScreenState error at the end of verbose, the...
Been studying the gIOScreenState problem...
I added the injectIntel and fakeID as UHD630, 0x3E980003
updated to BIOS F8, followed the setup in #1, but with the DVMT allocated set to 128MB
and i also removed the fenvi wifi card and removed the device properties,
this time i got a new error, which...
