I've installed 10.13.5 on an external USB drive clone, and then once everything is working okay, only then did I clone it back to my SATA internal drive. Reason I need to do it this way is if the upgrade fails, I want my computer to be unaffected so I can get back to work quickly and try again...
YAAAAAAHHHH!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Re-Installed a GTX970 back on my Hack (my 6870 card is failing and couldn't drive 3 monitors anymore), and for several days now I couldn't make this GTX970 to work. I know it worked previously on an older OSX version.
Did upgraded Clover, run the...
Hey all, I thought putting an SSD in my Hack will be a simple matter. After waiting for weeks and buying 3 different products to install this SSD on my MacPro case with the drive sled, I finally got it installed and then startup my machine.
And... nothing. The new SSD isn't seen by my BIOS, and...
Hey all, just got my first SSD drive and an OWC MacPro Mount.
I tried a search but can't find an exact scenario to my question.
I will be using this 500GB drive as the future home for my Windows 10 Parallels VM image. So basically, just using this SSD as a data drive, and not a boot/system...
Screwed standoffs to an old motherboard, lay it down on chassis, mark where the standoffs landed, and use JB-Weld to glue the standoffs to case (with mobo still attached), and placed weights on top of mobo until JB weld is cured. Unscrew old motherboard.
So I have a 2TB mechanical hard drive, about 1.3GB used.
I'm thinking of getting a 500GB SSD, and using the 2TB old drive for my /Documents and home folder.
Of course, I can't use SuperDuper to restore 2TB to 500GB. So what's my plan of action?
Do I have to do a fresh install of OSX from...
I had 10.11.6 and successfully upgraded direct to 10.12.5 using App Store upgrade link.
The only caveat is I upgraded my Clover EFI to version 4097 first. (My previous Clover EFI of 3974 didn't work.)
Everything works after the upgrade, even Siri and Messaging after the upgrade.
My USB3 hard drives are not being seen by Clover. Want the option to boot a USB3 drive in case of emergency.
I've copied the /EFI files to the EFI partition in my USB3 drives but clover still can't see the drives.
I'm having same problem... random reboots for no apparent reason. Doesn't matter if it's light load, no load, or heavy load.
On same motherboard
Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H + 4790K + 32GB RAM
Generated DSDT for mobo, removed NullPowerManagementKext, increased Vcore, swapped graphics card, disabled...
Here's the link.
It also comes with a key cap remover, and a switch remover, and (5) spare switches!
I guess in case a mechanical key breaks, you can just replace that particular key switch.
I got this $60 keyboard. Mechanical (loud clickity clack, perfect for touch typist... very easy on the fingers, great feedback), LED backlit, aluminum base, with wrist rest, and large size.... may not be everyone's cup of key, but hits all my needs/wants.
