    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I didn't see that before... Post #1 is somewhat confusing, in that at the very top of the post is this: and the OpenCore mini-guides have a partial chain to the next one. I (and likely other people who don't know) will get lost, and not see the more complete list of mini/micro guides that are...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

These are the files I used (from this post): https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.267551/post-2223836 with the F9i bios, modified so native nvram works. Also, which version of Catalina are you trying to install? It worked with...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Keeping the same serial number can help with software registration, possibly TM backups (or other backup software may use it), apple id logins for facetime/messages/icloud, so I would take the couple of seconds to copy/paste the values to the OC install. It's probably faster to do a fresh...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I recently cloned the Catalina install from my MacBook Pro to my newly built computer, with a WD Blue 1Tb nvme drive, and it works no problem. It's been working fine for me for a couple weeks now, and I also upgraded it to Big Sur (first 11.2, then 11.2.2, then 11.2.3). The only oddity I've...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

You likely at least need to be running xcode as root to attach to the kernel, or possibly even use the debugger from the command line to do it. I know way back (like 10+ years ago), 2-machine debugging was the way to go to do kernel-level debugging, as user-space kind of depends on the kernel...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Used System Prefs to update from 11.2.2 to 11.2.3, 2+ GB download, 3 reboots, with 5-10 minutes between boots, and also wanted entry of Aapple password prior to logging in the final time...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I use two monitors with my setup, both 2560x1440, connected via Display Port to the RX580, and they both go to native resolution once the system has booted. During the up (up until midway through booting in MacOS), the boot monitor is at 720p or so, then it switches to the proper resolution. I...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

And to follow up my post here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.267551/post-2232513 It was booting both Big Sur and Mojave fine, so I decided to wipe the Big Sur install and copy over the Catalina install from my 2012 Retina...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'd like to thank CaseySJ, the OpenCore project (and everyone else involved) for doing this work. I built my box similar to the original setup, roughly a mid-level iMac, significant overkill for what I will use it for (web surfing, running a rails server for my billing system, occasional XCode...
