Trouble connecting directly to AirPort Router - slowing down the finder

My audio workstation hackintosh is giving me some network related trouble. I’m trying to connect my ipad to my hackintosh to use apps like Lemur. To do this I’m trying to set up the Hack just like I had my 2009 mac pro set up - sending one ethernet to a unmanaged switch for my PC audio slaves...

Hackintosh ram reported incorrectly more :)

I was having the same issue with my Asus P9x79 Pro and 48GB of RAM (6x 8GB Chips) and MacOS 10.12.6. I know this is old, but I wanted to share a possible solution which is working for so far and did not require a Clover update pass the current version of Multibeast for Sierra which I recently...

    i7-4930K - Asus Rampage IV Extreme - 32GB RAM - GTX 770 4GB [Success!!]

No worries at all @neofusion, just glad you took the time to try and help, very much appreciated!:D And the link was very helpful as well. So I figured out a possible solution (which is working so far) and wanted to share (will post as well on the other link you sent too). As can be seen on my...

    i7-4930K - Asus Rampage IV Extreme - 32GB RAM - GTX 770 4GB [Success!!]

Well, I spent all day redoing my install from scratch a few more times to see if I missed something, and I still run into this 15TB wired memory on boot. No idea why? I don't want to continue installing all my applications and transferring all my data if this is going to cause issues with my...

    i7-4930K - Asus Rampage IV Extreme - 32GB RAM - GTX 770 4GB [Success!!]

Thanks for the response neofusion and the assistance, much appreciated. The wired memory show 16 terabytes not GB, which is why I freaked out. I have a separate boot drive setup from stock without shilohh's files and kexts in which wired memory shows 2 GB at boot. As for the RAM chips, I have...

    i7-4930K - Asus Rampage IV Extreme - 32GB RAM - GTX 770 4GB [Success!!]

@shilohh, thanks so much for providing these files and detailed instructions! I am using a Asus P9X79 Pro board with a 3930k and your files/kexts/config are the only way I was able to get full speed stepping and OC recognized in Sierra! However, I am having a small issue that I cannot solve and...

Costco Dell xps for $1899. Hackintosh compatible?

I've been interested in these Costco deals as well. It's definitely the cheapest way to get a decent graphics card these days, and keeps the RAM prices reasonable. As for who would need 64GB of RAM, I DO! I use After Effects and it is a RAM hog. Also, my brother does professional music...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

Big update: I was able to test my 980ti inside a REAL Mac Pro 4,1. And the results were shocking…. The system is running 10.11.6 and I installed the latest Nvidia Web Drivers for the system. I ran power from my hackintosh since the mac pro does not have 8-pin power cables. Here are some...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

Another great suggestion Adrian, thank you. That makes sense and I will try during downtime sometime soon and post back any results. My thoughts on trying sierra were thinking better support for this newer graphics card, but since this card has not been in a real mac, it doesn't make sense...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

Oh man, this clover thing is a huge mess to my brain. I spent the last 4 hours getting a spare drive to successfully install and run Sierra, and even then I have no idea what settings to use for a P9x79pro, 3930k and GTX 980 TI. I tried following other suggestions from the forum, but what I...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

I had a feeling you were going to say this :) I have been postponing updating since clover still confuses me and upgrading sound like a pain from my limited research. But it is definitely worth a test, so I'll try on a backup drive to see if it makes any changes when I get some free time...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

Thanks so much for continuing to follow up with me Adrian! So, I made the changes and still no change in acceleration and no second monitor. In your initial link, they state: Kepler- & Maxwell-Generation: InjectNvidia=False / GraphicsEnabler=No So, should I add the InjectNvidia=False to the...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

Thanks so much Adrian! So I disabled all my graphics options in Chameleon Wizard and changed my chameleon.boot.plist to the following: <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key>...

980 ti working in Yosemite but not accelerated only 1 monitor

I just recently upgraded from my old AMD 6870 to a Gigabyte Windforce OC 980 ti. I've been researching on the forums here and thanks to the great posts, I have my new card running. The problem is, it is performing worse than my previous card and the HDMI port is not working. After installing...

Need advice - Researching graphics card upgrade for video work (after effects and FCP X)

Thanks for the great link Walker! And yes, 10 series cards do not work with Hacks (and may never). After all my research, I have decided to go with a GTX 980ti, but am having some issues find one for a good price. Its scary buying a used graphics card, especially when I expect it to last me 3...

Need advice - Researching graphics card upgrade for video work (after effects and FCP X)

Here is my current build that has been working for about 4 years now: Asus P9x79 Pro Intel 3930k AMD 6870 2GB by XFX 42GB RAM I built this machine for occasional editing with FCP X and it worked great. But time has passed and am looking to upgrade GFX card and have no idea which direction to...

Overclocking Sandy Bridge 3930k on an Asus board questions

Scratch that, just installed VoodooTSC 6-core from MultiBeast 7 and no change at all. Still no reasons why the multiplier no longer works. I also tried updating OS to 10.10 from 10.9, no change. So strange. Any help would be great.

Overclocking Sandy Bridge 3930k on an Asus board questions

I think it might require proper installation of the VoodooTSCSync Kext (which I have not used in some time), going to try re-installing it when I get a chance but would love it if someone could chime in with some proper knowledge.
