    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

How similar are BIOS between boards of the same generation from the same manufacturer? E.g., Vision D and Aorus Extreme? I have the opportunity to get an Extreme, Vision D or go small and use the ASRock PG itx/tb3 - which seems to be another already developed option.

    [GUIDE] OC 10.13.6 Z490 Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme + Core i5 10400 + Nvidia GTX 1060

afaik, the issue is that the the firmware includes parts for diifferent things - the thunderbolt controller itself, and also a section for power stuff which can differ per board (as i said AFAIK, I'm keen to read more detail as I'm comfortable getting into this stuff). So the stock firmware and...

    [GUIDE] OC 10.13.6 Z490 Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme + Core i5 10400 + Nvidia GTX 1060

So, aside from all the very helpful off topic stuff, your build is working well? I'm looking at the z490 aorus extreme as an alternative to the vision d + 10G card. I'd like to run big sur (transfer from my current z370 build).. Nice to see that both ethernet ports and thunderbolt work. Can...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks, but while consensus can be a good initial guide (that’s why I’m here), when I look for information I dive a bit deeper than that. I’m not looking to go in blind. That assumes too much. I’m quite happy manually making xxDT changes and using in circuit programmers, although this time...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Can you elaborate a little on why asrock are a poor choice? I understood the phantom itx/tb3 is one of the boards with good support for the jhl7540, and even a flashable firmware to fix Issues for example with antelope devices.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I’m looking at a new build, audio focussed. So I want horsepower (10900k), good networking and full Thunderbolt implementation. My z370-I/8700k has been good but I’m going away from multi booting to dedicated machines for macos/Linux/windows. Z490 Vision D is sold out, but I can get asRock z490...

    [Success] ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX + TB3 + iGPU + Mojave + SFF Build

I am considering a 9900KS - which seems requires BIOS 4.20 for this motherboard. Does anyone run this (currently latest) BIOS in their hackintosh? Do the fixes for booting macOS also work with 4.20? Edit: OK, have read almost the entire thread.. seems there is discussion about this around page...
