New Apple Silicon Macs: MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini

I am surprised at how Apple offered three Macs this quickly with the M1. It's beyond impressive to say the least. I don't see the point of building a Hackintosh after today. I hate it because tonymac has allowed me to enjoy Mac OS for a fraction of the cost of buying from Apple. I love it...

Apple Announces "3rd Transition" for macOS: From Intel CPUs to Apple Silicon

You are probably right my hack needs to be configured better. It's mainly due to lack of time to troubleshoot everything. I installed Catalina fresh just following the standard guide and everything worked without a hitch. Haven't seen the need to tinker with it since then. Render times are...

Apple Announces "3rd Transition" for macOS: From Intel CPUs to Apple Silicon

In the real world my office 2014 2.6ghz i5 Mac mini had about double the rendering speed of my Hackintosh with the rx580. The Hackintosh beats the Mac mini in every hardware spec by a wide margin. And yet the Mac mini will outperform it in many tasks. It is the software integration with the...

Apple Announces "3rd Transition" for macOS: From Intel CPUs to Apple Silicon

After taking a while to consider all this transition I made an executive decision. I bought a cheap Mac mini. I will use it as my second computer. It is upgradeable to Big Sur. Honestly I have always noticed that real Macs are better than any Hackintosh at some things - even with the...

Apple Announces "3rd Transition" for macOS: From Intel CPUs to Apple Silicon

I think all of you smart Hackintoshers should put your (our) heads together and make something better. Apple is making something better. Good for them. The way the Apple system works fluidly between Mac Os, IPadOS, etc., is fantastic. I look forward to see what they are doing. Most of my...

Help how can I get iGPU output through vga port working under Mojave?

I did not test this on the B360m. I was just changing out the motherboard and put in my previous install and it worked. My guess is with a previous install from a working system it would work. I could never install from usb with the H370m and ended up changing it out as well. I think a...

Help how can I get iGPU output through vga port working under Mojave?

Just to be clear I installed a pre-existing APFS hard drive (with a previous install of Mojave) on a Gigabyte H370m D3H motherboard system. The H370m D3H has a vga port (D sub). This drive booted to Mojave with no issues and full graphics acceleration.

Help how can I get iGPU output through vga port working under Mojave?

Just in case someone follows this thread. I did get mojave running on vga. I was changing my system over to a gigabyte h370m d3h from a gigabyte z370 because I wanted to use micro atx and add more nvme capacity. Any way I attempted and as usual failed to get the system to run at acceleration...

[README] Common Problems and Workarounds on 10.14 Mojave

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask my questions. I have two issues with mojave so far. First is I cannot get it to recognize my lenovo nvme m.2 drive. I have linux loaded on it for the moment and it is blazing fast. I really would like to at least be able to see the drive in...

Apple Special Event Scheduled for October 30th

I always wish for what I can't get from Apple. I would love to see a mac desktop that is user upgradeable and user expandable. The mac mini of the 2014 variety was not. The imac of course is not. Only a small percentage of mac users need the specs of a mac pro or the imac pro. A nice case...

Nvidia Drivers for Mojave 10.14 Not Available, no WorkAround works well

I am still wondering why anyone with a hackintosh is still waiting on Nvidia. I picked up a refurb RX 560 from Newegg on eBay for about $60. Works perfect. No hassle install.

Nvidia Drivers for Mojave 10.14 Not Available, no WorkAround works well

Blame apple or blame Nvidia. It doesn’t make any sense to not have Nvidia drivers ready to roll since the beta of mojave has been out for months. Business is business - companies need to get over their personal differences. I ordered a gx560. Look for a good deal on my gt1030 on eBay.

Apple Updates MacBook Pros with 8th-Generation Intel CPUs and 32GB RAM

Luxury laptops for the very wealthy. Apple is leaving the majority of people behind. Thankfully I have a hackintosh already running an 8th generation intel cpu. I can only assume that if Apple ever gets around to updating the desktop (Mac mini, Mac Pro) they will be similarly priced. From a...

Apple Reveals macOS 10.14 Mojave at WWDC - Available Fall 2018

Your right. Ms is not innovative either. Apple is playing it safe. It’s just a little frustrating to see the lack of hardware updates for the Mac.

What Will Apple Unveil at WWDC 2018 Keynote?

No I was right. (LOL) You can call it what you want. It’s Mt Doom. Apple has lost its magic. It’s still the best desktop OS by far. But this is a tweek with a few perks. Not a major upgrade in my opinion. I hope I’m wrong but this is kind of boring for apple. Congrats on getting the...

Apple Reveals macOS 10.14 Mojave at WWDC - Available Fall 2018

I am underwhelmed. Just some ios/os upgrades. Another neat upgrade for the Hackintosh at least. Would have loved to at least seen a new Mac mini. I really hope they blow out the hardware upgrades in September. If not as I keep saying, it will be time to move on. I really wanted to see an...

What Will Apple Unveil at WWDC 2018 Keynote?

Just introduce a MacOs hackintosh version. A MacOs that could run on most desktops and laptops without the troubleshooting of the hackintosh. There is clearly a good size market for it. Definitely something I would be willing to pay for.
