Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

@miliuco I remember many times when Rehabman replied to me with "No problem reporting files." I wasn't intentionally trying to be difficult. I was just too much of a novice to realize that the people I hoped to help me weren't mind readers and magicians. They were (and are) just like me (only...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

Some of the followers of this thread are probably too new to remember Rehabman who famously replied "No problem reporting files" when people posted questions without any supporting details/information. Occasionally, I visit other threads as I'm still learning and I'm amazed by the questions. I...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

Many thanks to advice and instructions from @miliuco , @macnb and @antuneddu in another forum who patiently helped me understand how to change volume names in the OC boot menu / boot picker. If you are booting multiple macOS volumes via OC, these steps may interest you. I am repeating the...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

For those who are feeling adventurous and who have the budget, I've seen evidence that hacking the EliteDesk 800 G6 Mini (Q470 Chipset, 10th Gen Intel CPU / UHD630) should be possible with good results. It looks like you'd need to spoof a device-id. I still think that the G5 Mini / i9-9900 is...

    [SUCCESS] Big Sur on Gigabyte Z590 VISION D + 11700K + RX580

@tsanko.dimitrov The SSDT-GPRW patch is used for fixing instant wake. I"m referring to your use of "While (one) / break." If you look at the code, the outer While loop does nothing. Even if the board itself causes a POST delay, try without the Audio driver. You might be surprised.

    [SUCCESS] Big Sur on Gigabyte Z590 VISION D + 11700K + RX580

@tsanko.dimitrov I see that you have removed the Brcm kexts. Glad that worked for you. You have a very interesting software coding style in your SSDT-GPRW.aml patch: While (One) { /* Do stuff */ Break } Why the While loop? Also, what you are...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

The OC 0.7.4 upgrade was so easy, that I took the opportunity to restore the AudioDxe.efi driver that I had dropped in my posted OC 0.7.3 EFI. OC 0.7.4 EFI R001 is now attached to Post #1. I don't like the longer boot time caused by enabling the Audio driver, so I have it disabled in...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

@thexsenator I fixed the printer issue that I mentioned here. It turns out that the BS upgrade to 11.6 was a coincidence and not the actual cause. Microsoft update KB5005565 which was pushed on or around 14 September 2021 was the real cause. I was able to add the DWORD below to my printer...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

i was running Hackintool on my rig and noticed that my Power settings (pmset -g) were wrong. I'm not sure how/when it happened, but some of these may affect proper sleep/wake. Attached is a script that I run to restore 'proper' settings. Save the file, chmod +x the file and run it. Confirm...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

I upgraded to OC 0.7.4 on my HackBookPro15,2 (not yet on this HackMini8,1). The upgrade is very easy. For those on OC 0.7.3 using the EFI attached to Post #1, the update should require the following: Upgrade from OC 0.7.3 to OC 0.7.4 OC Update BOOT/BOOTx64.efi, OC/OpenCore.efi...

Resetting the NVRAM changes Boot Order in BIOS

For what it's worth, I don't have Windows installed anywhere on my rig. When I reset NVRAM via the OpenCore boot menu option, my boot order always returns to a default mode where USB booting is last. Since I prefer to have USB booting first, I must enter BIOS and manually rearrange the boot order.

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

FYI... I don't see anything in the OC 0.7.4 commits that interests me enough to perform the upgrade from 0.7.3 to 0.7.4. I probably won't be posting an 0.7.4 EFI and I welcome posts from others. Also just a reminder that I won't be creating a Monterey thread for this HackMini. The torch is...

Big Sur on HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini - The Perfect MacMini8,1 Hackintosh - OpenCore

See fix for this issue here. @thexsenator My old HP LaserJet printer (PCL drivers) is connected to Windows Server 2016 via a parallel port (yeah - it's old). Up until Big Sur 11.6, I printed from macOS via SMB. With Big Sur 11.6, I tried deleting and re-adding the printer (and it re-added...

    [SUCCESS] Big Sur on Gigabyte Z590 VISION D + 11700K + RX580

Nice work. I use the BCM94360NG without any kexts and find that it is recognized by macOS natively in Catalina and Big Sur. What made you decide to use Brcm kexts? EDIT: I only reviewed your listed kexts and didn't examine your posted EFI.
