In the past I have spent a lot of time trying to improve the performance of my RX5700 XT, but the only thing I got is an increase in the geekbench score, but no difference in the real rendering performance.
Try removing the GPU from the DeviceProperties section of your config, if you haven't...
X299X Designare 10G - OC 0.6.9 (DEBUG) EFI folder
This EFI has been adapted and customized for my system which has a Broadcom WI-FI/Bt PCIe card and an RX5700 XT.
The Config.plist was built from scratch starting from the sample.plist of the latest OC version to avoid possible...
Updated the BIOS to F3f and OC to 0.6.9 without problems.
This is my experience in the last few days:
- USB boot bug is still present;
- I'm testing the overclocking performance and maybe, and I repeat maybe (only two days of testing), it's slightly worse than the previous F3e BIOS beta...
After installing the drivers you need to give permissions.
Try checking on System Preferences > Security & Privacy > click "Allow".
If you do not find any requests, try uninstalling the Motu drivers, reinstall them and check again on "Security & Privacy".
Hi @TheBloke, the new beta bios fix this bug?
I didn't notice this because I didn't touch these settings for my overclock (limited to 4.7GHz for now).
As for the Thunderbolt: I learned that flashing the firmware does not make any improvements in terms of speed and latency. So in my case I...
So as I understand it, firmware flash does not lead to link speed improvements.
Currently the hotplug in my system works, the only difference is that to connect a device at boot (a Dock TB for example) I have to have the option "Thunderbolt boot support" enabled in the BIOS.
Hi @CaseySJ, in post #20,827 there is a small error: my previous motherboard was only "Gigabyte X299 UD4 Pro" not Designate, BIOS tested F7c and F7d Beta.
Unfortunately the method is not stable, because the Alpine Ridge PCIe card is often not detected when using this SSDT. The probable cause is...
Are you referring to when the overclock settings are ignored and the motherboard boots with RAM @ 2133 MHz and CPU @ 4600 MHz? Yes, the bug still appears to be present.
With Clover this setting enabled causes a KP when connecting a TB device.
Now with OC I activated it and the devices connect...
Hi, sorry for the late reply, but these days I am really very busy.
Fortunately, currently I have solved almost all the problems with this card.
The cause of the random KPs was a Quirks that was left over from the sample plist and I forgot to disable (it probably was: DisableRtcChecksum).
That's right, that's the problem. It also happens immediately after selecting the OS, without delaying the boot initialization.
In my case it is a powered USB3 HDD the cause. But the exact same thing happens even when the second internal SSD with Windows is not set in the boot order of the BIOS...
Correct, but for this card I have already made the mapping of the usb ports with Hackintool, in fact on Ioreg you can see only those that I have activated (4 rear and 2 front) and they work perfectly. A few post back you can found my EFI folder and Ioreg.
The problem seems to be related to the...
Unfortunately all of them, because this is not a USB port issue.
The real question is, what are the correct quirks for this card? I have already tried the "standard for HEDT" ones but they seem to be insufficient or not quite correct for the X299X.
Ps. I'm testing a new beta BIOS now, but I...
Thanks @teosoft for the tips, but I preferred to use my previous BCM card which is natively supported.
Now, the fun part
After wasting a lot of time I was able to find a stable dual boot Clover configuration for my new X299X Designare 10G.
For now I prefer Clover for its ease use...
Hi, are there any solutions to get the integrated Wifi and BT card on the X299X Designare 10G to work on the latest versions of Catalina?
I've tried everything but nothing for now, I guess I'm not the only one.
I also tried to install the BCM943602CS pci card, which on my previous build worked...
Yes, I am using a PCIe Thunderbolt card (Gigabyte Alpine Ridge rev.2) with the THB_C header cable connected to the motherboard.
With my previous setup (Gigabyte Z370 UG) and the latest BIOS everything worked perfectly, including the hot plug.
Now with X299 I feel like I have gone back to the...
I tried the SSDT (SSDT-TbtOnPch-Designare-X299-TBFP-LeleTuratti.aml), but sadly it breaks the hotplug on all devices.
I did a thorough search in the BIOS image with AMIBCP, but found no hidden options for GPIO3 Force Power.
I believe it is a fundamental option for the proper functioning of the...
Wow! Thanks @CaseySJ!
However, there is good and bad news.
Thunderbolt Bus is now present on Ioreg and on the Thunderbolt section of System Info.
The situation is similar to before.
Alpine Ridge PCIe > Thunderbolt Dock > UAD Satellite > UAD Apollo Twin.
- Thunderbolt Dock: must be...
