    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

any particular reason to use tb3 to drive the monitor? Seems a bit overly-redundant

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

So with original firmware, you can connect a DP cable to DP IN port from GPU and use TB3 to drive a monitor but you can't do that with flashed firmware? Seems like a @CaseySJ question. :) I know generally TB3 monitor support is tricky.

[Success] Radeon RX 6800 XT - Big Sur

Agree. 6900xt should be about 2x 5700xt in some tasks if not all.

[Success] Radeon RX 6800 XT - Big Sur

I’d expect 6900xt to be at least 200 at 8k otherwise for folks who solely use resolve, it doesn’t make much sense to go up.

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

I concur with @TheBloke : other than annoying BIOS crash bug (which in my opinion is a non-issue as long as we know when it happens how to get back to normal.), my experiences with this build is fantastic. By no means, it's reliable as Casey's golden Z390/490 builds. But given we can have more...

    Gigabyte X299X - Catalina Support

This BIOS (F2 and F3c) is indeed buggy and I believe we all agree on that. Another thing I can think of is that do you have an USB SSDT so that only certain ports (plan to be used) are enabled? I have that SSDT and it boots fine.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

The M1 Macs price is simply so un-Apple! I can't think of any reason to hack a laptop anymore given the price and performance of M1.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Absolutely, The M1 price is very attractive considering the performance and low power consumption. On the other hand, one reason the price is low is that M1 is a better version of A12Z which has been used on iPad Pro for a while. Not sure if they can maintain that if they announce 12/16/32/64...

@CaseySJ, I have to disagree with you here since I think you might be too nice in some situation rather than rough: * I may sound harsh here, I think people who ask questions here need to do some homework: reading the 1st post at least for example. Many questions were already answered in post#1...
