You can go higher then High Sierra but as mentioned by @Gigamaxx you would need a different video card that is not Nvidia basically.
I just stayed with High Sierra and my Nvidia because I'm running DaVinci Resolve and wanted to keep my setup for now.
100% you can run Sierra or High Sierra on this machine, you can use my guide for ZenBook UX430UA to follow through all the various steps. Yours will need some custom patches which you will see from my guide what I mean.

If you don't want to use Nvidia, then make sure you have nv_disable=1 in your config.plist. Also in your clover boot up, you need to check the boot arguments. Lastly, make sure you have Intel video enabled in your bios.
