    macOS 10.15.6 Update

I updated to 10.15.6 with no major problems except one that's become very annoying and which was introduced by 10.15.5, and that is this: Since 10.15.5, every time I clone with CCC I have to go to my BIOS, remove a phantom "Mac OS X" drive, reset my boot order to the correct real drive, and...

    macOS 10.15.5 Supplemental Update

10.15.5 is certainly messing with my BIOS, too. Since updating to 10.15.5, every time I clone with Carbon Copy Cloner, a spurious macOS drive is created, and my BIOS sets it as my boot drive. Of course, it can’t boot so I have to go into my BIOS, and reset it to my real UEFI boot drive. I can...

    macOS 10.15.5 Supplemental Update

I've had a very similar problem since updating to 10.15.5, as well as the supplemental. In my case, when I backup using the latest version of CCC a mysterious "Mac OSX" drive shows up and is set as the boot drive in my BIOS. Of course, just like yours, my computer won't boot and I have to go...

    macOS 10.15.5 Supplemental Update

Why am I not shocked?? With macOS Buggy McBuggerson I expect a Supplemental Update 2 in the very near future. :banghead:

    macOS 10.15.5 Update

This was a clean and easy update on both my 2012 MacBook Pro and my PowerMac G5 Red. I think that it updated the firmware on the MacBook Pro. On the G5, two reboots, used Clover r5118, and I had to manually select the Install macOS from SSD the first reboot. So far I haven't run into any issues...

"Mac in the Box" Hackintosh, for the budget minded.

I did a "Mac on a box" to make sure that the hardware was working properly before I built my first PowerMac G5. This was before I learned about the tonymacx86 website with all its great tools, though you can see a link to tonymacx86. The picture has been cropped to eliminate a...

    macOS 10.15.4 Supplemental Update

This release needs to be renamed macOS Buggy McBuggerson. [4/20 update: The supplemental update introduced a new bug for me. Now my hack occasionally reboots when it wakes from sleep. That has never happened since I built this computer in 2013.]

    macOS 10.15.4 Update

FYI: Just so you know, this didn't happen with r5102 and the Default Boot Volume in r5107 is SSD. I think that it is a problem with r5107. I am not the only one who has experienced this issue after updating to r5107. Just sayin.

    macOS 10.15.4 Update

This seems to be an r5107 issue that I hope will be fixed in a future update. In my case, Clover defaults to booting from my macOS HDD rather than the SSD it's configured to boot from. My 10 second timer still works though! Go figure.

    macOS 10.15.4 Update

Not smooth and buttery for the first time in a long time. I did get there though. The fix for me was to break down and install the UEFI r5102 Clover bootloader. I was using Legacy r4961. Then and only then did the 10.15.4 update complete and all looks good. Thank goodness for Carbon Copy Cloner...

    Suggestd process crashing repeatedly

To all, Ever since I've upgraded to 10.15.1 I noticed that ReportCrash is taking up significant CPU % and time in Activity Monitor. The process that is causing excessive ReportCrash activity is the suggestd process, which is crashing repeatedly. Any ideas how to fix this or turn it off? Thanks...

    macOS 10.15.1 Update

All good here in Central Ohio on my Haswell Power Mac G5. The only thing that I had to remember was to intervene in the first boot process and select boot from "Install macOS from SSD - Data." After that it was automated as before and everything works. I'll be interested to see if it improves...

macOS 10.15 Catalina is Now Available on the Mac App Store

Here's a drive icon workaround. Boot your system from a Mojave drive and change the drive icons (both system and data) via the old method of copy and paste. Once done reboot your system back to Catalina and the icons will stick.
