Older copy protected software would check your MAC address(and other stuff). So if this is reset, things go wrong.
Native Instruments even checks your processor speed. If this field is zero(which is not uncommon on a hackintosh), it will prompt you to re-register the software everytime you try...
Made a backup of the motherboard BIOS with a CH341a SPI ROM reader. This is just a precaution.
Why? You can use the official Gigabyte BIOS version from their website if you want to revert, can't you?
Mmm. Will this BIOS adaptation destroy TB under Windows?
I wouldn't let a DAW sleep. Just do a shutdown when you're done. Booting is very fast, my Hack boots in 30s or so, so it's not that you have to wait for ages to start working.
What I am experiencing: sleep works well, until I run Logic or Cubase or any other DAW. After that, sleep is broken...
Start over? I first made a test SSD with an OC EFI. Copied my SystemID, etc., over with a tool (can't remember the name), tested this, adapted it a bit with OC configurator. I then replaced the Clover EFI on my daily driver Mojave SSD by the OC one, adapted some more stuff, done. Nothing was...
I made the switch form Clover to OC a month ago. It was easy, although USB is a bit different. Didn't do any OS upgrades, still on Mojave, Cubase & Logic work fine. My system worked OK with Clover too, BTW.
I still have a B&W G3 with a Korg Oasys PCI card + accompanying blue 20" monitor(a behemoth waiting 20 kg). I thought it looked nice, back then. I didn't like the beige quadra 950 I had once. Just as plain as a normal 80ties PC. The Motorola en PowerComputing clones I had looked awful too...
OK, so the icons on my login screen are huge. I have tried to fix this with the OpenCore output arguments, but now the OC boot icons are huge too instead of fixing the Login screen resolution.
Wiped the NVRAM, cleaned the cache, but still wrong.
How can I fix this?
It took some futzing(OC newbie)but now it works OK, I see the right ports and I can charge my iPhone with 1600 mA, according to System Info. This may be a lie. Charging is kinda slow.
But I am happy that it works now.
Aha. Declare. Arg. I just threw everything in the bin and emptied it.... it wil just show up in the config.plist if i put in the right folder, ready to be marked?
I have to get used to the marking/unmarking way of working.
OK, so my USB ports are a mess in OC. They are carefully mapped and have hi current in Clover.
Is the USBPorts.kext method of mapping no longer supported? I copied this over from my Clover EFI and removed the USBInjectall stuff, but it clearly doesn't work.
What am I missing?
