Hi @CaseySJ, I would like to install Windows on my machine to run a particular software. As of now, my OSX Mojave is installed in the first M.2 slot (closes to the CPU). From your guide, you did mentioned that if we want to install windows, it's better to install on the first M.2 slot and Mac OS...
Hi Casey, I'm on Mojave 10.14.5 currently and everything is nice and stable. However I need to upgrade to 10.14.6 to run Davinci Resolve 17. I'm kind of nervous upgrading, is there a step by step guide from 14.5 to 14.6? I have done the backup.
I'm running Clover.
By the way, I have to build another new Gigabyte Designare Z390 for my work as my other hackintosh the Asus X99 deluxe II based on your EFI has just died, probably due to the Asus motherboard. Should I build with Clover or OpenCore for my second Gigabyte Designare Z390? Any...
My Asus X99 Deluxe II is still on Mojave with Clover. It is stable and working well and I probably will keep the system as it is for sometime cause I use it daily for video editing in our studio. I will probably upgrade the RX580 GPU though. Would you recommend the Vega 64 or the...
Hey CaseySJ, previously, I have Windows installed on a separate M.2 drive in my ASUS X99 Deluxe II and now I would like to remove it. Do I need to change anything in the BIOS or it is safe to just removed the drive.
The system is still working great with your EFI!
This is your X99 Asus Deluxe II we're talking about?
You installed the GC-Titan Ridge card into that system, but did not connect the THB_C header?
Yes. THB_C header connected
Did you connect any other cables such as?
Two PCI power cables from the PSU to the GC-Titan Ridge?
After multiple tries to no avail, I went ahead and bought a GIGABYTE TITAN RIDGE Thunderbolt 3 Card to try. Lo and behold, Windows recognised the GIGABYTE TITAN RIDGE Thunderbolt 3 Card without having to install any Gigabyte Thunderbolt drivers. I then boot into OSX, and I see my G-Raid...
My Asus X99 Deluxe II is working great with your great EFI sharing. However I just realise that thunderbolt isn't working. I'm using the AsusThunderbolt 3 card that came with the MB. It used to work before with the KGP build guide though not hot-pluggable. Previously, I have WINDOW...
I'm able to render out of DaVinci Resolve 16 if I only use one monitor instead of a dual monitor setup. Each time I have another monitor connected to the Vega 64 GPU for a dual screen setup, the render will fail. The same project render on a 2013 Mac Pro with dual screen setup doesn't...
I'm back in the studio after my vacation.
I tried setting the AVX in BIOS to 3 and it's still crashes on render. I've also try setting 0 with the same result.
Sometime it crashes at 2%and other time at 50 to 80% point, very random. I also tried rendering to different codec.
thank you very much for you help. really appreciate. Wonderful community!
On my Machine,
- No OC on CPU
- No OC on the Ram
- iGPU is disabled
I will have to check the AVX in Bios and file permission as you suggested. I believe my AVX is on Auto.
Thanks for linking the Davinci Resolve article...
I actually render the same project on a Mac Pro 2013 and it render out without problem. I'm not sure whether is the CPU, GPU or any settings that I've missed that is giving the problem.
Not sure upgrading to 10.14.6 will make any differences. I'm on 10.14.5 now.
Thanks for the tips CaseySJ. I took some photos of iStats, Intel Power Gadget and HWmonitor after Davinci Resolve Render crashed. Seems like temperature are pretty good for CPU and GPU. Rendering out from Premiere Pro 2019 is fine though.
Need some urgent help.
Just finish a colour grading job on DaVinci Resolve 16 Studio Version, everything works well except for rendering.
It will render well for awhile and then lock up the the whole computer. Sometimes it lock up at 15% and other time close to finishing like 90%. The only way...
