    Thunderbolt Networking

    I would also really like to know if the situation has improved much for thunderbolt 3? I tried this using thunderbolt 2 between to retina 5Ks a few years ago and the results were really disappointing (fast at first then quickly dropping to sub-gigabit speeds). It's frustrating that the speed and...

    HWMonitor Overheating Alarm

    I'm running a 9900K at stock speeds using a Noctua NH-D15. It manages the temperature well for everything except video exporting - where I regularly see the overheating alarm from HWMonitor. I should also mention it cannot handle Prime95 small FFTs (hits high 90s) With video exporting I hit...

    [SUCCESS] Hackintosh will not boot with iGPU & Vega 64 GPU (running together) with Thunderbolt 3

    @NoiseCoalition I'm having the same problem. Similar specs to you. Would love to know if you find a solution. The frustrating thing is that I had it working (iGPU and dGPU)! I was testing booting from the USB boot drive (to make sure it worked in an emergency) and it seems to have messed...

    9900K Overheating with Noctua NH-U12S

    Update: I just set the bios to max CPU fan speed (thinking it just wasn't ramping up). Even with two fans at max, it still overheats. I'm going to try reseating the cooler one more time tonight :/

    9900K Overheating with Noctua NH-U12S

    Thanks for your input @UtterDisbelief and @trs96 I added a second Noctua fan to the cpu cooler. It definitely helps a lot! I'm still close to overheating. I'm not sure what temp the CPU automatically throttles (looks like 85 degrees). I might try reseating the cpu cooler one more time. I'm...

    9900K Overheating with Noctua NH-U12S

    Thanks for the reply. I don't have a second fan installed. I'm a bit skeptical of how much of a difference it will make? Ideally I'd like temps to be about 15degrees lower.

    9900K Overheating with Noctua NH-U12S

    I'm currently running a 9900K at stock speeds (no overclocking), and I'm having an issue with CPU temps specifically when video exporting (4K H.264 from Adobe Media Encover). I hit temperatures of between 85-90 and it seems like the CPU throttles down (cools, then speeds back up, and then...

    nⓩxtMac Pro - i9-9900k - Gigabyte Aorus z390 Pro - macOS Mojave - Sapphire Vega 64 Reference

    It seems like using FBpatcher to create a code less extension USB map would be the best solution (in terms of not needing to use any nexts or port limit patches. I tried last night but the FBpatcher tool doesn’t actually create the USB map patch when I press generate. I also ran into problems...

    [SUCCESS] blouse's "Hack Pro" :: i9-9900K + Z390 Aorus Pro + Vega 64 + TB3 + USB3 :: 100% working

    @DenOfLore I should have mentioned that I'm using Mojave with an RX 580. So I'm guessing that if you're not using HS and Nvidia that using a newer solution like aptiomemoryfix is a better option?

    nⓩxtMac Pro - i9-9900k - Gigabyte Aorus z390 Pro - macOS Mojave - Sapphire Vega 64 Reference

    Hi @MESwan Thanks for replying to my question over on @blouse 's 9900k build! I tried using your SSDT file for USB3 and it did manage to activate all the USB 3 ports - but not at USB 3 speeds. I then tried a fresh Mojave install, and then copying your whole EFI folder - same thing, USB 3 ports...

    [SUCCESS] blouse's "Hack Pro" :: i9-9900K + Z390 Aorus Pro + Vega 64 + TB3 + USB3 :: 100% working

    Thanks for sharing @MESwan! I got the same configuration for USB ports when using @corporatenewt 's USB mapper. Since you're on the same motherboard would you mind sharing your SSDT files (SSDT-EC.aml, SSDT-UIAC.aml, SSDT-USBx.aml)? That would be greatly appreciated! Also did you enter...

    [SUCCESS] blouse's "Hack Pro" :: i9-9900K + Z390 Aorus Pro + Vega 64 + TB3 + USB3 :: 100% working

    Thanks @blouse I thought you were on MacPro6,1? Is that what you mean about the FBpatcher screenshot - that you're patched with MacMini8,1? And are all your USB 3 ports working? Did you do the same SSDT or Kext process that @DenOfLore did?

    [SUCCESS] blouse's "Hack Pro" :: i9-9900K + Z390 Aorus Pro + Vega 64 + TB3 + USB3 :: 100% working

    Thanks for the reply @DenOfLore I actually am using AptioMemoryFix-64 and I am able to both sleep and shut down okay! I'm on Mojave 10.14.2 with iMac 18,3. I'm still having trouble with USB3 despite following the guide and tool from @corpnewt. I went the SSDT route (vs. kext) - which I think...

    @blouse Thanks for putting together this guide (and for @DenOfLore for your additions). @blouse Did you do the SSDT for USB yet? I have have the same board as you, and it's a bit beyond me.

    Thanks for the guide! I've been trying to setup headless iGPU on a 9900k but FBpatcher crashes everytime I try to Generate Patch (after inputting all the correct settings). Any suggestions? Thanks!

    El Capitan on GA-Z170X-UD5 Success

    Thanks tofuconfetti! Your guide was very helpful! I was using the same board and processor, but with 32GB of Corsair LPX DDR4-3200. Also I'm using an older GT 640 video card. I pulled the video card out during install, since it wasn't working with it in. The one thing I wasn't able to get is...
