    LG UltraFine 5K Build

No, it has just one as yours. It's just a different implementation and it uses only one chip to store firmware & data. Titan Ridge uses a separate chip for data. The firmwares ofc are not compatible between 3-TR and Titan Ridge. Find the "Thunderbolt Bus Activation" section here...

I have both Titan Ridge and 3-TR. and the programmer reads them both. But, at first I modified it to use 3.3v intead of 5. Check the wiring and connections, also check that your programmer works at 3.3v.

I've got 5K res finally and all internal devices working both in Catalina and Windows. The best setup for UltraFine 5K (B-version) is the following: - ASUS Z490-E Strix - GC-TITAN RIDGE 2.0 with original firmware and bridged pins (does not matter) - RX580 with two display ports connected to...

Got RX580 to test 5K resolution, but no luck. I've removed nvidia nvidia card and put RX580 to the top PCI-E slot and now cannot boot macOS. OpenCore shows an error right after the boot volume is selected: [EB|`B:WFDW] Err(0xE), 0 @ LocHB 71B4903C-14EC-42C4-BDC6-CE1449930E49 That's a common...

TB3 Bus was activated on ThunderboltEX 3-TR, thanks to @CaseySJ Anyone interested can read details here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/gigabyte-z490-vision-d-thunderbolt-3-i5-10400-amd-rx-580.298642/page-511 Currently I don't have RX580, so when I get it, I'll post update about 5K res...

You're magician! SSDT helped to get internal devices on cold boot too! Woohoo! So the last thing remains is finding RX580 again to test 5K res. @CaseyJS you just rock!

Okay, I'll look at it. I already tried RX580 with two DP ports to enable it, but no luck. Yes, it's present and enabled.

Yes, they are bridged. I didn't noticed any differences if they bridged or not. It's for GC-TR. With 3-TR card TB_HEADER is just connected to motherboard ofc. I remember when I just added SSDT for non-flashed GC-TR from HackinDROM internal devices were recognized on cold boot. Though the TB...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

So, the results. Good news: all these firmwares enabled TB Bus on 3-TR and GC-TR. Speed is shown as "Up to 20Gb/s x2" instead of expected "Up to 40Gb/s x1" In depth - If nothing is connected to AIC, the TB Bus won't be enabled, i. e. "No hardware was found" in the TB section. Valid for...

Hi everyone! I'm trying to enable TB Bus on GC-TITAN RIDGE 2.0. I used a modified (5v to 3.3v) CH341a programmer to flash and used GC-Titan-Ridge-V2.0-Mod-NVM50-CaseySJ.bin as a custom firmware. Before flashing compared the original NVM50 firmware with a modified one and have found only few...

Well, my first experience with modified firmware was unsuccessful. I couldn't get TITAN RIDGE to work with modified firmware, it just didn't work. I've checked everything again and have chosen the right firmware too.

Yeah, I understand that flashing enables the TB bus. I meant that in my case I got "No hardware was found" and in the Thunderbolt area and I didn't see internal devices when pins on the Titan Ridge were connected to wake it up. When they are not connected I get "No drivers are loaded" as it...

Well, I tried to use GC Titan Ridge with HackinDROM SSDT. With pins connected macOS didn't see Titan Ridge at all ("No hardware was found" in System Information). Without connected pins and thanks to SSDT (though ThunderboltEX 3-TR works without SSDT) it started to recognise internal devices...

Thanks for the reply! I just forgot to make things clear: I have two TB3 cards: ASUS ThunderboltEX 3-TR and GC-Titan Ridge v2.0. The first one is compatible with my ASUS motherboard and everything works with it except 5K in macOS. There is no modified firmware for it, so I would try to use...
