It's Wednesday my dudes.
I have successfully followed this guide on a HP Elitebook 840 G3 and it has worked well (far better than I expected).
There is one annoying problem left.
The system successfully goes to sleep, but it can't wake from sleep.
When waking from sleep, it gets stuck in a loop...
Well if it's any consolation, I think you have tried virtually every possibility.
Other than OS X problems, do you recommend this laptop? Would you recommend the 6157u version (it is limited to 2.4GHz maximum) or do you think the turbo boost makes a big difference in daily tasks?
I understand. It is the DVTM-prealloc value that is killing the Iris 550 variant of this laptop...
I am amazed how there is always that one little problem that breaks everything on a laptop...
It seems every generation they accidently find new ways to make our lives harder o_O
Also, I can't...
Hey all, I'm dying to know if you have made any progress, because I am really interested in buying this laptop.
Since the newest MBP uses Iris 550, it should work without issues. But it seems that is not the case? Also, technically it should work from 10.12 onwards since Iris 550 MBPs shipped...
EX58 is a different motherboard...
Anyway, it seems the DSDT downloads on this site aren't working.
Anyone got the 2.0 FH DSDT?
Audio is not working for me yet...
see here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/bootloaders/145429-clover-old-guard-ga-x58a-ud3r-rev-2-0-a-14.html#post1186113
I must install using MBR stick otherwise it won't work. Now it works fine....
Still need a DSDT though. Or something that will provide the finishing touches.
Audio is not working for a start. No idea about CPU management.
I experienced one KP so far (prob CPU related). Specs of the system...
Is yosemite + clover any better (wrt dsdt)
Anyway, I have the same problem as two other people in the thread, everything installs fine, but the installation is not visible in clover (guid part)
Also, which is the cheapest OOB pcie USB 3 card out now?
Made lots of progress again.
By deleting these kexts:
The delay problem is fixed.
Brightness can be controlled!
No KPs so far.
Hotkey support is also working, I updated to the latest voodooPS2 but I'm not sure if that was the reason...
YES YES YES! I got it working again!
I used Clover El Capitan Installer ("Clover OS X El Capitan USB" in Google, first link) and did a clean install to internal SATA.
For the first boot this USB stick is necessary to boot the system. After the first boot I installed the latest Clover R3330...
I would appreciate if someone with a 8560w w/ AMD M5950 could help me get El Capitan working.
The problems I am having are posted here:
Sorry, I don't think my first reply to you was correct. You can search on the forum which adapter you need, but it might not be the one I said initially. All I know is that the 8560w is EXTREMELY picky about this, so read very carefully.
