For those interested, here's my FULL BIOS configuration with explanations as to why I chose what I have. 1. Extreme Memory Profile - Apparently causes issues, so, I made sure to turn it off for safety. 2. CSM Support - Read it should be disabled, so, it is. 3. Secure Boot Mode - Read that it...

Upgrading a Mac Mini (late 2014) to a combo SSD + HDD

...for a 2014 Mac mini that allows you to fit another SSD looks similar to this, I believe this is what's shown in iFixIt. Replacing the HDD requires removing everything from the case, adding this connector allows you to add an NVMe SSD which for a reg Mac mini would let you create a fusion drive.

My Hackintosh won't boot up after hard shut down. I decided to shut it down the hard way.. Dumb idea. Now it won't boot. When I enter clover my harddrive won't appear. And I have a fusion drive.... I fought that I could maybe install mac os on another drive and then replace the efi file on the fusion drive I use now.. with a brand new...

    OpenCore 0.6.3 & Fusion Drive

@mariogto87 But I have tested OpenCore 0.6.4 on an real iMac17,1 from 2015 with Fusion Drive (SSD 20gb + HDD 1tb) and it has booted and worked perfectly, I think that OC does recognize Fusion Drive containers, at least in my case.

My first system (Z390 Designare / i7 9700 KF) (9th generation) and second system (Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming / i7 8700) (8th generation) can both run MacOS Sierra 10.12.6. I have VMware Fusion 11.0.3 installed in the Sierra partition on my first system and it works fine as far as I can tell. On...

    Sierra and contemporary chipsets

...find its way under the display glass, but otherwise everything else is in great shape. Within the last year I upgraded the original 3tb Fusion Drive to a 500gb Crucial SSD. One could say there is little reason to replace it. However, we all know Apple systems are known for being difficult...

    Fusion *storage* drive randomly mounts

I'm successfully running 10.15.7 on a 1TB NVME Addlink gen4x4. For storage, I created an APFS fusion drive by combining a 1TB NVME WD gen3x4 + 12TB WD. When the computer is rebooted, sometimes the fusion drive shows up but most of the time it does not. When it shows up, it works wonderfully...

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Virtualization will work. Don't worry about it. I use VMware Fusion because it allows me to virtualize my "Bootcamp" drive. VirtualBox doesn't allow for that.

[Guide] Install Catalina on the Dell Optiplex 7010 and 9010 Desktop PC

I have some questions about which SSD adapter will work with my setup or if it would be better to buy something newer. Is any of this possible? I got a surplus (free) SFF Dell Optiplex 7010 (2012) from a local college. It has: Intel Q77 (2) 16x PCIe 3.0 (one wired 4x) (1) 1x PCIe (1) PCI (1)...

    Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

@CaseySJ I only have a single NVMe SSD installed on my system. In fact I removed the NVMe SSD drive, since that was the original configuration when I had the TB3 external SSDs mounting, to test if I could get the TB3 external SSDs to work -- NO LUCK. So that isn't the issue. I originally had...

UniBeast: Install macOS Catalina on Any Supported Intel-based PC

I'll have to update my profile, seemingly have a new install of Catalina running on a "new" HP Elitedesk 800 G1 - now I can commit to a SSD drive for it ;-). Using a GT710 video card at this time just because I don't have a spare DisplayPort to DV cable. I've done a few of the HP Elite 8300...

    Opinions on New Build Components?

Thank you for the information @penrow1! In regard to your comment on the i7... you think I'm "overkilling" on processor power with the RX 580? I wouldn't say I'm a "serious gamer," but I am primarily wanting a Windows 10 boot for gaming. So perhaps an i5 would provide enough processor power...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

The capture looks good. It shows that channel led8 is being used by Gigabyte RGB Fusion app. I though you already tried led8 to set edge lighting and it didn't work as expected. But the capture shows that only channel address 0x27 0x80 (or 'led8') is being used.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks for the answer... I tried renaming it directly in windows. The name of the C: drive is BOOTCAMP. Maybe it´s related with it being all caps? maybe I should try a different way to rename the drive? I did it straight from windows through right clicking the drive, then properties, then...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

For me i've installed Bootcamp drivers with Brigadier too, then i'm using Vmware Fusion to access it directly from the bootcamp volume (when i'm too lazy to reboot natively on Windows). Vmware worked a few minute and rename the "Windows" drive as "Bootcamp" and i can see it now on the Startup...
