    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

so the vision-d uses the Titan Ridge (JHL7540) for the thunderbolt 3 controller, thunderbolt 4 will use Maple Ridge (JHL8540).

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

With the 11900K around the corner, the Gigbayte Vision-D should be compatible. I read that Thunderbolt 4 will be in the spec for the chip along with PCIe4, obviously. Althougth not fully stated, I assume the Vision-D will be PCIe4 capable. Will Thunderbolt be upgraded to Thunderbolt 4 as...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Couple of Questions, if anyhow might be kind enough to chime in. With the Vision-D and a 10900K I am looking to get a 10GbE card. The youtuber margonaut recommended the Asus XG-C100C. Not sure if someone could recommend a different/better option? Another question is more of a thought. While I...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks for the reply. Yes, after researching last night more in depth on the forums, I discovered the CNVi slot is proprietary. Apparently this is more common on Gigabyte boards. My second thought of using that Key M adapter to put it in the M.2 slot "should" work. I may order an adapter board...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Just to expand on the idea or thought. Using something like the following: https://www.ebay.com/itm/M-2-WiFi-Card-to-M-2-Key-M-WLAN-Adapter-for-SSD-Converter-AX200-BCM94360NG-Card/274471463778 with the BCM94360NG card. That way I can save the Vision D prebuilt card? Not sure if anyone...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I received the pieces for my build this week (huge back order on intel cpu's apparently). I am still debating wifi options. I would love to keep this machine as clean as possible. My current machine, I have always used a PCI card with a BCM94360CD. I am wondering if anyone has replaced the m.2...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Yes. If you go to the G.Skill website and look up the ram it will have a QVL listing. They are compatible with the Vision D.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

could anyone comment as to whether this would be the equivalent Youbo Wifi Adapter? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1750Mbps-BCM94360CD-PCIE-Hackintosh-wifi-Card-Bluetooth-4-0-Desktop-WiFi-Adapter/203060468249 Amazon in Canada is sold out of the youbo. I purchased my last hackintosh wifi card from...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks so much for the reply. I am in Canada so I am figuring out which parts would get here first. Just a small question which I am sure I know the answer to already (just want to make sure)... Being I have the Vision D coming it has the TitanRidge chipset, so I would wire the clip directly...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I looked at the GPIO for the Pi 2b and it is the same (obviously)... Not too worried about flashing. Just want to use the easiest/safest device if I have to order something anyways. Thanks for the input.

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I placed order on parts to build a 10900K with a Vision - D. I have been reading through the Thunderbolt 3 flashing guide to enable extended mode. I have a Raspberry Pi 2 sitting around. Would this be sufficient? Also wondering if I would just be better off ordering a CH341A Programmer...

Did you try a different USB header on the motherboard? Some have said that makes a difference.

Looks good. Is there good space between the GPU and the heat sink? What case do you have?

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

thanks for replying to this. I was second guessing if adding a second fan would cause space issues. Glad to know it is a safe go! just figuring out a build right now.

The NH-D15 is not compatible with that motherboard... Look at the NH-D15S. I am looking at a similar build right now. You maybe able to add another Noctua fan onto the NH-D15S to get similar, if not better performance than the D15. Oh, I just saw the above post.. sorry for the duplicate...

Laggy 5700 XT after update to 10.15.4 - pls. help

I just generated an SSDT with ssdtPRGen. Cleaned up my config a little. I now boot and it is running incredibly fast again. my frequencies are all up to x44 (overclocked). The problem I am having now is that they don't step down. they always hover at x35 - x44. I read somewhere someone...

Laggy 5700 XT after update to 10.15.4 - pls. help

I figured out a quick fix. Not a permanent fix. After logging into the computer I force it to go to sleep. When I wake it, my CPU clocks all go back to normal (well, not fully normal, as they only go to 16X as a low state). I'll have to poke a bit more why the P States all of a sudden are...

Yes. The card works but the lack of cpu processing makes everything seem slow. I have to look into it more, shortly.

Laggy 5700 XT after update to 10.15.4 - pls. help

Have a look at your CPU multiplier. It might be CPU related, not GPU related. I am running the iMac Pro profile with a 5700 XT. I thought it was GPU related but noticed tasks in general were slow, HWMonitor showed my CPU was running at 8X multiplier instead of my usual 44X overclock. I...
