One more thing that I would like to check.
In Hackintool, on the patch tab, GPU name is correct :
However, when looking at the system tab, the IGPU name is different :
Does it matter? If so, would you know how can this be changed to HD4600?
Sadly I've not been able to get back to the state where the Music app was actually playing videos and now "Listen now" can't connect as an "error has occurred. Dunno if this has always been the case with Big Sur (it worked in Catalina)
Setting the platform ID is something new to...
I recently enabled the iGPU in BIOS and configured it as headless to use my Apple TV for screen mirroring with the following settings:
"AAPL,ig-platform-id" using 0B001204 as Device Property and "device-id" using 12040000 as Device Property. All was working and I was even able to play...
I'm really unlucky with this ports thing :(
When you say "you can build a USBPorts.kext or SSDT in Hackintool by only copying across the ports you need etc."
How exactly do I do that? I get how I can copy ports under XHC in ioreg but how do I paste it in Hackintool? Shall I test all USB ports...
I'll try the renaming ad see what happens. Hmmm I only have the two necessary ssdt's for Haswell CPU, no patches that I know of.
As for the kexts, I only have Lilu, Apple ALC, Whatevergreen, VirtualSMC , ethernet kext and USBInjectAll (0.7.3) under EFI/OC/kext. Nothing in L/E or S/L/E as this...
Thanks UtterDisbelief, but what about the EHC ports? Shouldn't I rename them to EH01 and 2? It's just that when I do this, the USB ports (not PS/2 lol) where my mouse and keyboard are connected (hs05 and 06) are not working but strangely the USB2 ports on the front are... shall I plug them there...
The transition to Opencore went smoothly but there is one thing I am not able to fix and this is USB port mapping
I know I should have fixed this a long time ago but I was lazy and relying on the USB port limit patch which was working well with Clover up until Catalina but sadly with...
I do, thanks I'll check that :)
Well I'm trying to change too but my motherboard is not making it easy, can you or someone confirm that my EFI folder and plist (post #17) are correct? That would confirm that the issue is with my motherboard and not the folder, thanks!
I don't get it. Shall I use the openspell.efi in OC tools? If so, where shall I put this one?
When the computer starts is on the EFI shell shown in the screenshot above if I type the cfg command it is not recognised.... As for the last bit "add/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi, the file is there on the ssd...
OK I have created the OC EFI folder (with OC 0.6.3) according to the dortania guide for Haswell, checked the plist with the sanity check link found in the guide and all checks out. I then added the EFI folder to the EFI partition and rebooted into BIOS (MSI's Click BIOS 4) where I disabled CFG...
I managed to make a fresh install but I can only boot from preboot and actually can't install Clover 5126 on Big Sur as "this package is incompatible with this version of macOS so I'm booting from the USB for now
Success, finally!! :D
All I did is to copy the kexts (virtualsmc, lilu, applealc, whatevergreen, ethernet and usbinjectall) that I had in Library/Extension to Clover/Kexts/Other and the installation went through.
I'll now make a usb for a fresh install. I guess that kexts should only be in...
