    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I have fixed the issue by formatting boot disk and restoring it from Catalina recovery. It seems that Catalina can't boot from Big Sur APFS layout...

I'm running the latest F9i with CGF-Lock Disabled. Recovery boots fine, so I think it's some other problem. Maybe there's an issue with the prelinked kernel?

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I upgraded to Big Sur, but for some reason none of my network interfaces were working. So I have restored my Catalina Time Machine backup, and after booting I get this error instantly. Did anyone see anything similar before?

DRM is not working with Big Sur at the moment. Lilu can't do userspace patches required for it yet.

I have booted Ubuntu and tried the same scenarios and it's the same. It also takes exactly the same time to wake from sleep, and wakes immediately after sleep if there's a device drawing power from thunderbolt port. Thunderbolt device is not detected by Linux also, I think that's due to the...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Sleep never failed me on this board, MacBook did it twice. I will try to investigate more maybe I could figure it out. I will try that, but I think it will still draw power while sleeping, it draws like 38W.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Wake delay happened after flashing and happens with or without any devices connected to thunderbolt. I thought GPE.TINI was the issue, and removed all 4 calls from my DSDT but it didn't do any improvements. It's not a big deal but a fast wake is a better experience overall. DarkWake issue...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Did anyone notice a delay after waking from sleep after flashing Thunderbolt NVM? It takes 4 seconds more than normal now. And it seems there's an issue when a device is drawing power from Thunderbolt, for example a MacBook. Computer performs DarkWake instantly after sleeping without any reason...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Yeah, finally! It's running without SSDT or patches at the moment, I will generate them tomorrow since I will mainly use thunderbolt networking. I used Raspberry Pi 4, and the organizer clip. Attached the clip, powered the pi and the computer power supply, then dumping/flashing was...

I wanted to do that, but decided against it. If there's no difference then it's better to use the one meant for it, at least QA was done with that version at Gigabyte. It's too much work to remove the motherboard from the case so better play it safe :D

I examined the hex differences but couldn't find anything meaningful to me. I will just flash designare_z390_tb3_rom_1-Elias64Fr-Mod.bin for now. That's the latest right?

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ is it normal for thunderbolt NVM from same boards to be different? After I dumped my board NVM and compared it to the patched one I found a lot of bytes changed. Would it be better to patch the dumped NVM or just patch the one posted here? I have attached my dump. SHA...

I'm going to flash my thunderbolt rom, did you find any issues with using this rom? any advantage over original NVM33 of Z390?

I have disabled XMP and memory speed is 2666MHz instead of 3200MHz. Wake from sleep is noticeably faster now, magic trackpad and keyboard are available instantly, and of course there're no issues with USB drives disconnecting. I didn't notice performance degradation in my normal workflows, so I...

I have modified its source code to remove the menu bar code, but I can't change its preferences now. So you can just download the code, run it and adjust your preferences, edit the code and create a build, add it to your applications folder, and finally to your login items. It's working...

I have found two more advantages of disabling XMP beside not receiving the disk not ejected properly notifications after sleep. - My most annoying issue was with bluetooth trackpad and keyboard after waking from sleep has been fixed, now it doesn't take 3 seconds delay before they work. - Wake...

linkDetails is injected using device properties in real macs according to device properties dump form my MBP. So I think it's normal to be added to SSDT or Clover device properties in our case since we don't have an EFI driver for this like on Macs. Here are the list of all Thunderbolt device...

This doesn't have anything to do with firmware rejection. It happened because the command contains redirection, sudo only applies to the first part which is echo 1 and user ubuntu doesn't have write access to nvm_authenticate. You should use root or if you would like to keep using sudo, use...
